Gun Buybacks Don’t Work but Kamala Harris Would Make Them Mandatory

You couldn’t get a leftist to back firearm welfare in the practical sense. You know, a right to bear and buy arms backed by a government subsidy. But if the purchase is some fraction of a weapons actual value to turn a law-abiding citizen into a future victim of violence, they are on board.

Running for president makes that proposition that much more enticing.

Kamala Harris said Friday she supports a mandatory buyback of military-style assault weapons, taking a more aggressive position than her main rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination.

“I think it’s a good idea,” she told reporters after a campaign event in Londonderry, New Hampshire.

“We have to work out the details — there are a lot of details — but I do” support a forced buyback, Harris said when asked about the policy. “We have to take those guns off the streets.”

Those aren’t the guns you’re looking for…but you know that.

Chicago has tried buybacks, and every weekend is still an opportunity to report on a rising body count. The fact that the media ignores it doesn’t make it less true.

Baltimore has tried them too. It’s heading for a record year for murder.

Gun buybacks do have one use. They encourage thieves to steal guns to turn in for cash. Not theirs, of course.

If any of the Democrats running for any office tell you they work, they are lying if they tell you that they didn’t know that they are lying.

Commandant DA Kamala Harris knows as well or better than anyone. But here she is pushing them. Why? A majority of the Democrat party Primary base is stupid. They believe because they’ve been lied to and can’t see past their own ideology to discover the truth.

And they are more than willing to turn you into a victim to make it happen.

They are, after all, the party of victims.
