The majority of House Democrats took their cues from Leadership this week and voted against a resolution to impeach President Trump. The final vote was 332-95-1.
Republicans took it out for a walk.
“The United States House of Representatives has just overwhelmingly voted to kill the Resolution on Impeachment, 332-95-1,” he said, noting the House’s full tally, which included one abstention. “This is perhaps the most ridiculous and time consuming project I have ever had to work on. Impeachment of your President … is now OVER.”
That sounds good but it will never be over. If Trump wins re-election it won’t be over. Whether anyone has the stones to try it or not the value is less in the action and more in the perception. In fact, the less action the better.
This is a talking point. A Narrative. Like, when Congressional Republicans kept saying they would repeal Obamacare. It got them elected but they never intended to do it. Leadership would never allow it. What gets passed to the swamp stays in the swamp. But using it for political advantage?
Same thing here.
There is value in the topic because it opens up avenues for other derogatory narratives. So, lefties, if you are pinning your hopes on the early retirement of the Donald, you can hold your breath until you turn blue. Like Obama was for Republicans, the left believes Trump is worth more to them politically in office than out.
Yes, they are lying to you. But you should be used to that by now. The promises of the left are all lies. And one day you may have to look back and say, I was right. Because I am.
