Really, ahGAIN Joel Desilets makes us put our sights on him?

Last October Joel Desilets (R-Windham) got all bent out of shape because we were “trashing” him.  Actually, when I heard this, I couldn’t stop laughing. No Joel, WE didn’t do anything. You did. And if you recall, WE just, well, pointed it out: “NH GOP Town Chair supports a Democrat.”

WINDHAM — The head of the Windham Republican Committee, who hopes to win a seat in the state House of Representatives in the Nov. 6 election, has resigned from his leadership role following a controversial endorsement of a Democratic candidate in the race for Rockingham County Commissioner. On Sept. 30, Joel Desilets used his personal Facebook page to endorse Derry’s Joshua Bourdon, praising him for serving “with the utmost character” as a Derry town councilor. Desilets wrote that Bourdon “will bring integrity to the office as our next county commissioner.” He asked voters to “please consider him for your vote.”

He was forced to resign that Chairmanship because of the NH GOP Bylaws.

One would have thought that a lesson would have been learned: “One must think things through before doing, and not on impulse.  Well, Windham, you can once again be proud of Rep Desilets. He is 1 of 8 Republicans who voted to raise your taxes; to subsidize a choo-choo train to Boston (if Gov. Sununu doesn’t veto it).

Yep, Joel Desilets is one of them.

From Granite State Future: Commuter Rail: part of New Urbanism (emphasis mine):

If you care about taxes, you will care about this issue which by all accounts would be a huge detriment to the NH Advantage.

These 8 Republicans voted for SB 241 which by the DOT’s own study portends to be the worst financial boondoggle ever for NH and likely cause a huge new broad-based tax: James Allard, Arthur Barnes, Joel Desilets, George Feeney, Dennis Fields, Werner Horn, Aboul Khan, Walter Stapleton.

Feeney, Fields, and Stapleton represent areas upcountry where the residents would not even benefit from this, but their constituents would pay just the same.

While it is possible that a few of  Desilets’ constituents might take advantage of this (not entirely sure but I’m not thinking that the ch00-choo’s rails are going to be all that close to Windham especially if Mayor Donchuss of Nashua gets his way), ALL of them will end up footing the bill (just like with the ‘Downeaster).

Is this the reason why Joel Desilets was elected?  To shove money into the figurative firebox of a train that will serve a few elites going down to Boston every day?

Let the political spanking begin….again.

And what the heck were YOU thinking, Dennis Fields??? You’re a bit over in Sanborn but still in Belknap County. Why in God’s green earth are you voting for something that would help us here in Belknap like Western Mass residents paying for Boston’s MBTA subway system? MBTA?  Yeah, that’s an endearing thought.  Just tell me when to load up my pail with money and do that two-hour round car trip to give it to some rent-seeker, eh?

You gonna ride down with me and tell me of the greatness of this vote?

Tell you what – we’ll sashay over to Windham and I’ll give both of you clowns an “interactive talk” you won’t soon forget.  Two whole hours worth.  That work?

It would for me.  Except for the pail part – that will be everlasting.
