“What is the NH League of Women Voters Afraid of in Peterborough?” Not just GraniteGrok took note of the restrictions

And that would be the Peterborough Republican Committee.  Glad to see that some Republicans “are mad as hell and aren’t gonna take it any more!”. Emphasis mine:

Peterborough Republican Committee urges LWVNH and Ledger Transcript to allow video and audio recording at Candidates Forum Monday

It is a shame that the League of Women Voters – an organization that claims one of their main priorities is to increase civic engagement – is holding a candidate forum where only one paper is allowed to record any video and audio of the event. Voters should be free to record the forum with their own equipment in order to keep those running accountable without the filter of a single news source.

Sunlight and transparency are key to a healthy election process, and the League of Women Voters and the Monadnock Ledger Transcript should open up their upcoming forum.

Especially since that one single news source is limited by column inches in their dead tree edition – there is no way that they can (or would?) put everything in print that would go on at the event. And the Peterborough Republican Party CONTINUED to put the hammer down:

The League of Women Voters and the Monadnock Ledger Transcript will engage in unconstitutional violation of first amendment rights to free speech and free press Monday at the Candidates Forum.

The Peterborough Republican Committee hereby calls for all persons in Peterborough to protest this unconstitutional violation of our rights, wherein the only media outlet allowed to record video will be the Monadnock Ledger Transcript. We will protest by filling the hall and recording the entire event.

Under the Glik opinion, if a person is not entitled to an expectation of privacy at a public forum in the public interest, then they have no right to prohibit the recording of video or audio. Whereas the Monadnock Ledger Transcript will be recording video at this event, no one in attendance is under the auspices of privacy.

If the League of Women Voters and Monadnock Ledger Transcript do not IMMEDIATELY issue a press release concerning this issue and allowing for ALL attendees the right to record, we must pack the hall and record anyways.

Ah, Irish Democracy at work!  Or what is that phrase that the Progressives started using just as it sunk in that President Trump became the legitimately and democratically elected according to the US Constitution and the Electoral College defined therein?   Hmmmm, OH, I remember!  #RESIST!  And I also recall that other phrase: Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism (ok, maybe NOT quite germane to this event but it made me “feel good” about myself for remembering it.  Hey, if Democrats can “logically” feelz that way, why can’t I?).

All in all, its the case of “be careful of what you wish for” as the Progressives have been rewriting the rules of engagement and “norms of politics and Society” for decades.  NOW, they get upset when the Right decided that Communist and agitator Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals works as well for the Right as it does for the Left (and the Left DOES hate it much more when those Rules get boomeranged against them).

More in a bit…

Co-founder of GraniteGrok, my concern is around Individual Liberty and Freedom and how the Government is taking that away. As an evangelical Christian and Conservative with small "L" libertarian leanings, my fight is with Progressives forcing a collectivized, secular humanistic future upon us. As a TEA Party activist, citizen journalist, and pundit!, my goal is to use the New Media to advance the radical notions of America's Founders back into our culture.
