“Politics is downstream from Culture” –Andrew Breitbart
With the backdrop of what we’ve been reporting on the Nashua School Board, and how this Progressive infested political entity is trying to railroad Nashua BoE member Doris Hohensee out of office because she is outspoken from a Conservative standpoint (and that quote from Breitbart), I just asked the other Groksters this simple question:
BTW, has ANYONE heard anything from the Nashua GOP about the problem with Nashua BOE? One would think they’d say SOMETHING…
…with the intent of defending one of their own. After all, the Nashua GOP DOES list Doris as one of their Elected Officials:
If they have, I can’t find a single word by any of their GOP elected officials. Right now, it seems to be only us. Yes, only us. GraniteGrok. You know, the only online media site that Andrew Cernota (famously of the Nashua GOP) once said of us:
…is asking for copies of them to pop up in the Granite Grok or some other scandal rag. I’ve said my piece.
That’s right, we’re nothing more than a “scandal rag“. Well, he does seem to be in league with the groupthink of Democrat / uber-Progressive Jan Schmidt, the Democrat coven from Merrimack, Liz McConnell from Brentwood, and a whole host of others that stray from our standard of quality (US & NH Constitutions and the Conservatively worded NH GOP Platform (even if a number of we Groksters aren’t Republicans)) with that line of thought. Scandal rag, Andrew? Everyone is entitled to an opinion – and that may be your’s and the Democrats (puts you into a good league, eh?).
So what say you, Andrew Cernota? We’ve been defending Doris, Free Speech, and the Freedom of the Press. You’re a lawyer (albeit a patent attorney, but still a lawyer) – we may only be a “scandal rag” but we’re always ready to take on the fight for what’s right (and Right). You? Where have your Op-Eds been? Written any Letters to the Editor? Get on CCTV or radio shows to defend one of your own? Or as part of the GOPe, do you look down your nose at her and sneer at “the Republican rabble” known as “The Base”? How DARE she bring shame upon the GOP for…..wait for it….speaking out to uphold values that the GOP used to think were correct?
You’re a long term BMOC within the Nashua GOP – what have you done lately?
Or are you just a beta male equivalent of JHo who constantly has run away from any flying political mud lest it leaves a stain – even when it was a “friend” in need? That certain bank keeps asking “what’s in YOUR wallet?”? I ask in plagiarizing: “where does YOUR Loyalty lie”? Just within the safe confines of the GOP “house of worship” (to throw out a metaphor that I’m not so sure many will catch)? When’s the last time you rode across the moat to do rhetorical battle with those that despise your “outdated attitudes“? Where are the notches in your belt in steadying, and then reclaiming, the culture from whence the NH Advantage sprang?
No, you’ve kept your mouth shut and your fingers under your keyboard. Go ahead, let the Culture continue to be rearranged right from under your feet – and with it, the politics that follow it. Wake up, Cernota (and the rest of the silent GOPers) – this ought to be a loud, LOUD alarm clock going off within an inch of your eardrums. And this is the SECOND time this stunt has been pulled – remember, it was just a few short months ago that Manchester School Board member Rich Girard was similarly accused of “outing” a student (who WE then outed having outed her self and since she had obtained the Age of Majority, was opining as an adult on another public forum).
The traditional NH culture is being wiped out with nary even a small kitten’s “mew” – seems that the only folks that dare to keep snarling back on a regular basis are us. And for that, we’re branded as a “scandal rag“? You best be praying we keep on snarling because without it, the little culture that’s left that Republican politics depends on will be history – and you’ll be one of those left holding the bag.
Or are you not aware of how many conservatives and traditional NH Values folks are packing it in and packing on out simply because they’re tired of trying to defend those values when the GOP can’t be bothered? I certainly am – I get the hundreds of daily comments left at GraniteGrok’s (note, Cernota, there’s no space there) site and Facebook page. There’s a trend that is building – do you even know what it is, being safely ensconced within the GOP bubble as you are?
If the NH Republican Party wants to win, and win Consistently, act like you believe in the Platform. Speak like you do and at each and every turn. Vote like you do at each and every opportunity. And Legislate like there’s no tomorrow because two days ago was that “no more tomorrow” – and you blew it.
While I wrote that a couple of days after November’s election, it holds up just as well for today. And not just for “Republican politics” either. If you haven’t noticed, especially this session in the NH Legislature, the Progressives ARE trying to further change NH Culture via their Political legislation BECAUSE they’ve already accomplished much in changing the Culture outside of the political realm. And if Governor Sununu decides to go “bipartisan” on even a couple of their bill, you continue to see the traditional NH Culture – but only in your rearview mirror.
One thing I do know, and note, that at least the NH GOP Chair Steve Stepanek isn’t taking this lying down. From my perspective, he’s been a breath of fresh air as he’s taking on all comers with a big bat. He doesn’t care who it is or what they stand for – you know where he stands and it is for the NH Advantage. He’s got the bully pulpit and a lot of you “silent GOPers” ought to be taking lessons in learning how to get back on the offensive instead of the “woe is me, woe is us” of the horse-drawn broken-down wagon schtick (or even if you know that you’re in it). It’s about flippin’ time that a GOP Chair acted appropriately in this manner – it’s been a long time coming.
No, the fight isn’t just political. In fact, it isn’t political at all. The existential threat to Republicans is Culture and most of you are like fish flopping around on dry land with little to say about it outside of your committee meetings, gatherings, and events and the Democrats are having a field day. Start looking around you, take a GOOD look at how things have changed, the rate at which it is changing – and WHO is causing it (psst: some have an R after their names!!!). Then start acting and speaking, taking names and addresses. And remember that ALL Social Issues have both a Fiscal and cultural cost.
And for Gawd’s sake, get off your rump and DO something instead of just wanting to BE someone.
Because if there is a real scandal here – that’s it. Wouldn’t you agree with me, Andrew?
