The “Connection” Between Abortion and Climate Change

In 2018 abortion was the number one global killer. Estimates suggest at least 42 million defenseless people died as a result of abortion. It got me thinking about climate change.

Climate Change is based on the false notion that CO2 has something to do with warming the planet. It does not. But the left clings to this idea no less vigorously than that babies are not people even though they are the only way we make people.

Climate change, we are told, kills people. Your carbon lifestyle, you moral hypocrite, is aborting future human lives.

But if burning fossil fuels really is a global form of abortion – ending people’s lives without their consent – then unborn babies have to be people. So, we won’t see too much of that argument going around even though it is out there. What we will see is continued assumptions that fossil fuels are shortening the human life-span, when the opposite is true.

Global life-expectancy continues to rise alongside “carbon emissions.’ Infant mortality worldwide is lower than in previous years. Carbon energy, oil, plastics, health care, technology, all improve life. And in most cases, the addition of cheap energy adds several decades to your lifespan.

For centuries, most people didn’t live past the age of 36. Life expectancy across the globe was very similar regardless of region. But beginning in 1870 this changed.

What happened?

John D. Rockefeller started Standard Oil of Ohio in 1870. The advent of cheap, abundant energy not only improved life-spans it added quality to those lives. And while global life-expectancy in 1870 was 30 – today it is 70. In western countries, it has passed 80. And even in places like Somalia people can expect to live to 55 instead of 25.

So, while the CO2 “curve” has no connection to any claims made by Climate extremists it closely mirrors the rise in life expectancy. Which brings me back to abortion the number one global killer.

Birth control was envisioned by the ruling class (early progressives) as a means to eliminate the lesser races. It was directed at minority populations. Abortion has had the same effect. Of those 42 million killed most will be minorities.

So, is it any surprise that global elites embrace proposals like the Green New Deal? These prescriptions transport us back to an energy lifestyle more like 1870. When the rich and powerful, the connected,  lived longer lives of higher quality and everyone else made do with the scraps the ruling class allowed.

Don’t worry. We’ll have abortions and assisted suicide.

And yes, the poor and minority populations of the world would be hit hardest.
