Press Release: The NH House “Beer Caucus”

by

And a “DILLY, DILLY!” from this teetotaler for putting one over on the Democrats! For immediate release: (Concord, NH) (emphasis mine):

Last week hidden behind the hoopla of the passage of the last straw law, the #beercaucus singlehandedly made life for all NH Citizens better by repealing RSA 178:26, the tax on the sale of beer. In a completely self-serving measure, the founders of the NH House #beercaucus, Representatives Tim Lang (R-Sanbornton), Howard Pearl (R-Loudon), Reed Panasiti (R-Amherst), Jess Edwards (R-Auburn) buried deep in an amendment, the repeal.

When asked about the repeal, Rep Howard Pearl said:

“Given all the bad bills being passed in Concord, NH citizens needed a break.”,

Rep Reed Panasiti said

“NH citizens deserve good news from Concord for a change.”,

Rep Jesse Edwards said

“Taxation is Theft”.

And then, sigh….

Rep Tim Lang said:

“This is all a pipe dream, the Democrat controlled legislature will never give up ANY tax revenues, the beer tax lives – sorry.”

Yes, it is April First.  And yes, they never stop wanting your money for their purposes, even if it is just a pint of beer (or pot, in which they will let you smoke it, just tax the snot out of it).

Yes, today is April 1st….
