Michael Sam: Another Tale of Left-Wing Photo-Op Identity Politics

Identity Politics is a photo-op fraud wielded by the Left to push an agenda. The people do not matter. Their causes and interests only matter if they advance Democrat power Politics. And the latest example is openly gay (former) NFL player Michael Sam.

Sam came out before he came in. He admitted to being gay before he was drafted so the Left glorified him. He was a poster boy for an LGBT movement and their media allies who dropped him the moment he was no longer of any value.

Michael Sam got drafted by the Rams, released, picked up by the Cowboys, but never played a snap. By 2016 the once high-profile name had vanished from the media spotlight.

Sam says he began to abuse drugs and alcohol and lost control of his life.

When he found himself in a one-bedroom apartment in Dallas by the Fall of 2016, he reached out to the LGBT community who had championed him before, as well as other sports organizations and businesses.

Despite the previous support they had shown him, “no one would give me a job,” he said.

“Where was the support that I got for coming out?” Sam added. “I felt like I was used by everyone.”

Another tale of liberal love lost, added to other stories of Democrats using identity groups when it served their purpose but disregarding them as anything other than props or window dressing.

The LGBT movement has billionaire backers and has successfully wedged itself into the culture. The gay lifestyle is crammed into every corner of the media universe. So, when Sam offered the opportunity to expand that universe into NFL locker rooms, he had value. When it didn’t happen, he was useless.

Void of any political value they dumped him.

A cautionary tale for all the ‘victims’ the left is using to pave their path to power.
