We like to remind our readers about the complicated relationship Democrats have with the truth. Like, all lawful gun-owners are criminals, and they’ll prove it just as soon as they pass enough laws to make that true. Another excellent example comes to us from Mark Steyn.
All jihad is local, but all “Islamophobia” is global. So, if a Muslim of Afghan origin shoots up a gay nightclub in Florida and kills 49 people, that’s just one crazed loner and no broader lessons can be discerned from his act. On the other hand, if a white guy shoots up two mosques in New Zealand and kills 50 people, that indicts us all, and we need to impose worldwide restraints on free speech to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
One point Mark brings up about the New Zealand murderer is that he was killing Muslims to save the environment. Apparently, he believes they breed to excess, which is bad for the earth. It is a sentiment the murderer shares with any number of leftists including Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and proponents of her Green New Deal. But they don’t typically say that about Muslims.
But let’s not get hung up on that.
The Left’s marching song for the recent circumstance is that Muslims are now afraid to go about the daily business of being Muslims. You know, because of all the Islamophobes. But were any person of non-color (of any other denomination including none) to dare explain their hesitance after one of those “lone-wolf” attacks (in the name of Allah), the Left’s response would be to call them, that’s right – Islamophobes.
Much like the Left’s irrefutable hypothesis of Global Warming – which motivated the Christchurch killer to mow down “innocent Muslims” to save the planet – if you look like either the perpetrator (White guy shooting Muslims in New Zealand) or the victim (white folks killed by a Muslim in Orlando) you are an Islamophobe.
After the Islamic terror attack in Melbourne four months ago, Muslim community leaders refused to meet with Aussie Prime Minister Scott Morrison because of all the systemic Islamophobia. After the Christchurch attack, the same Muslim community leaders are demanding a meeting with Morrison because of all the, er, systemic Islamophobia.
A Means to an End
And there it is, but why waste space regurgitating the obvious? The Left and its minions will (are) using it to suppress speech. Grabbing the guns is a priority for leftists, but it’s not the endgame. If people keep exchanging thoughts freely in the marketplace of ideas (that make snowflakes melt), they’ll never be able to corner the groupthink on utopia. If we disarm them maybe then, we can finally shut them up.
The government must regulate your words and expressions (and associations) which is what the entire campus culture and k-12 public education system has been working on for years. Teach the children well. Teach boys to want to be girls, whites to hate themselves, and make sure they are always wrong no matter who is pointing what weapon at whom. And no guns. Because whatever happens, only the government “can fix it.”
Saying otherwise will land you in Facebook jail, or actual prison, as soon as they collect enough power to pass enough laws to make it all “legitimate.”
