The Mueller Report was issued late on Friday and the key phrase that is being thrown around is “no more indictments will be filed” in this investigation that was supposed to be about Trump’s collusion with Russians to “steal” the election. You know, just like the hanging chads between Gore and Bush. Yes, Trump supporters have been indicted, jail time and fines applied but not one single one of them has been about Russian collusion leaving the Democrats with nothing. They’ve all been about either process crimes (e.g., lied to the FBI during questioning) or long ago financial crimes (like former campaign chair Manafort). Trump said he was innocent, that this was a witch hunt, even as the Democrats partied like never before that they were on the cusp of regaining Power by “nixoning” Trump – that orange man that defeated the Obama next-in-line, Hillary was going to get nailed. He didn’t deserve to win – he wasn’t one of us and he certainly wasn’t one of our UniParty supporters in the Republican Party. He’s going down and they invested heavily in that believe.
It’s been glorious these last few days, watching their utter meltdown over what they had prayed, preached, and demoguged for the last two years – a frogmarch of Trump out of the White House. And yet, there he is again, having led them believe their own nonsense such that now they have no idea what hit them. Dazed, confused – and doubling down on stupid.
It wasn’t about Mueller Report – that was always just a means to yet another beginning for them. They discounted the findings of the House and Senate reports prior to this simply because of partisanship – those were to be dismissed. Yet, with “no more indictments”, it is like they are the trapeze act flyer that let go of the bar only to see that both the catcher and the net are gone – they’ve become Wile E. Coyote. The hurried cross-over talking point now seems to be Mueller colluded to not find anything – the grasping at straws stage (even as the Democrats want to outlaw straws) – so that when the actual results come out, they are struggling to reset political low expectations.
Naw, who am I kidding. Democrat Congressman Adam Schiff has already said he is going to subpoena Mueller to testify before the Senate and the House committees, where the Democrats hold control, are seemingly are wont to continue barreling down the Loserville R&R tracks in trying to “get” Trump, the Trump family, and closely aligned Trump friends and associates to destroy Trump and get him removed from office. Financial background, his taxes, his family’s companies – they were mad back in 2016 and this report is making even madder in obtaining the one thing they want – Trump. Not as in angry, just mad as a proverbial hatter.
They want the Mueller Report totally open – they ought to be patient to see what’s in it first. We don’t know and as of me writing this, Congress (and the Democrats therein) don’t know either. Who knows if the Executive Summary will have anything in it or will it be a nothing burger? I am, however, thinking of the latter than any kind of impeachable or even a “resolution” offense.
No, I think the Democrats, in summary, have put themselves into a giant pickle jar and spun the lid closed. They’ve personally staked too much on this one thing for too long of a time period; they proclaimed orange suits and impeachment for what seems to be forever – and now there’s no space for saving face other then to completely drop it (and knowing they believe we all are that stupid, they may go that route in hoping we’ll all forget).
Now, if the GOP had any brains, they already have a bunch of collages and compendiums of that these power hungry and greedy Democrats have said these last two years ) and start playing them in TV and radio ads between now and November 2020.
Problem is, that may well be a big IF.
