Actually, Matty, I expect Representatives that I supported to be closed-minded in the sense that they are going to keep their campaign promises. I would never support a Representative who is running on a platform of being “open-minded” about raising taxes, growing government, infringing on the First and Second Amendments, etc. etc. etc.
And as anyone who has followed Matty’s act as a State Representative (I have the misfortune of being represented by this blowhard) knows, Matty is anything but open-minded. He votes the Democrat line all the time.
What Matty really means by “open-minded” is that Republicans need to open their minds and hearts to the people who are intellectually and morally superior to them, like Matty, and thereby see and understand the error of their ways and redeem themselves by voting with Matty.
In other words, Matty is anything but open-minded. He is an incorrigible Socialist ideologue who like his hero Barack Obama believes the only reasons anyone could ever disagree with Matty and his #squad are because that person is either a reprobate or really dumb.
But let’s give Matty a chance to show how open-minded he is. How about he gets off his high-horse and debates Victoria Sullivan about the merits of Debra Asshat (Altschiller)’s bill and the behavior of the bill’s supporters:
