Stop the Presses Democrat Majority State Senate Supports Wasting Money On Commuter Rail

Public transportation is an expression of the state’s right to define how you get from A to B. Not just how but when and where. The modern commuter rail fantasy fits this profile. It is a long-standing dream of the Left. To throw your money down a hole for government controlled ride-sharing. Whether you can use it, want to, or not.

To keep the dream alive, the Democrat majority State Senate approved a bill (SB241) to shoe-horn the capitol corridor rail project into the states ten-year transportation plan. It was a 14-10 party-line vote.

Commuter rail in New Hampshire at best would serve a few ‘cities’ in Southern New Hampshire while everyone would end up paying for it.

Its primary function (right after wasting tax dollars year-after-year) would be to move people to jobs outside New Hampshire and drugs and crime from Massachusetts sanctuary cities up into the Granite State.

The left is claiming (as usual) that free money from the Federal government (still your money) would pay for a majority of the build out. Upkeep and bailouts, however, would be on the backs of New Hampshire taxpayers forever.

It will never pay for itself. Ever. And sadly, they know that, and don’t care.
