From School Choice NH: the hearing on HB 632, repeal of the Education Tax Credit (ETC) program, will resume on Tuesday, March 5 at 10 a.m. in room 202 of the Legislative Office Building.

Students and families supporting education choice programs like ETC, and opposing HB 632, crowded into the LOB on February 5 for the initial hearing on the bill. Ninety minutes into the hearing, members of the public were finally invited to speak. When it became clear that more people wanted to speak than the committee had time to hear, House Ways and Means Committee chair Susan Almy (D-Lebanon) announced that the hearing would be continued at a future date to allow more public testimony.

School choice advocates urging defeat of HB 632 were clearly in the majority at the initial hearing, according to a report published at GraniteGrok. With the continuation of the hearing now on the calendar, supporters as well as opponents of the bill have three weeks to rally their forces.
