On the odd chance that El Chapo’s billions don’t make an appearance at The Wall funding cotillion, there is another way. An unfortunate majority of illegal crossers end up milking US taxpayers for billions in services annually. Money that would be saved by the bushel if even a fraction of the invaders were deterred. Savings that would more than cover the cost of a border ‘wall.’
If a wall stopped 50 percent of those expected crossings, [Steven A. Camerota] says, it would save American taxpayers a whopping $64 billion — almost four times the wall’s cost — to say nothing of the additional billions in federal savings from reduced federal drug interdiction and border-security enforcement.
We have long advocated for establishing a barrier on our southern border as a means to retard the flow of opioids that lead to a crisis that in itself is sapping away billions.
It’s all connected.
Democrat obstruction on purely political grounds – they hate Trump and don’t want him to have a win – kills kids, family members, friends, and neighbors. Opposition is advocacy for human sex trafficking and narco-terrorism by militant gangs.
It doesn’t even matter why the left objects.
Blocking illegal entry takes unnecessary pressure off first responders, and hospital emergency rooms. It slows or stops the inflow of people infected with things we had long stomped out in America. It improves classrooms and the learning environment. Social services are freed up for more pressing domestic issues like veterans and homelessness. In fact, every budget and every level of government benefits. Particularly in large cities struggling with spending.
If we built the wall the economic benefits far exceed the cost from day one in perpetuity.
The Democrats don’t care about any of that. They never did. Just look at the cities they’ve ruined or are in the process of destroying. It’s about power politics. One-party rule. Their party. Their rules. And the urban promises are no different than their American values. Destructive to the lives and fortunes of actual citizens.
Build the Wall.
