“If Trump’s immigration positions are racist, were they racist when you held some of those positions, as well?”

Don’t be surprised but Jake Tapper attempted to commit journalism. The CNN host asked US Sen. (and presidential candidate) Kirsten Gillibrand “If Trump’s immigration positions are racist, were they racist when you held some of those positions, as well?”

Liberty Bugle reports that,

According to a report by CNN, Gillibrand advocated for more deportations, closing the border, making English the official language in the United States, and expanding detention facilities at the border. All of these positions were included in her campaign materials in 2007 and 2008 when she served in the House of Representatives.

In response to Tapper, Gillibrand dances around the question. Says a lot of things. But she never addresses the claims of racism. She certainly doesn’t own them. Instead, she settles on claiming that she didn’t think about the suffering in other people’s lives.

Just so we’re clear. A far-left Democrat is claiming that when she ran for office the suffering of others was not on her mind? Is that even possible?

Name a policy priority of the Left that doesn’t claim to be about using government to solve someone’s suffering? There can’t be very many if any at all. What a crock.

And just so we’re clear, I am not suggesting that Democrats are ever intent on relieving suffering unless by that you mean the burden of ruling ourselves. They work tirelessly to relieve us of this. Along with the responsibility of our having to decide how to spend the fruits of our own labors.
