Someone sent crude looking mail bombs to some Democrats. They were all intercepted, and not a one went off. But the media went off, on cue, as did an organized chorus of ranters and ravers, going on about civility, which until yesterday not only did not matter to the Left it was verboten. The Left’s new rule was no civility until they rule with a side of “those who disagree might suffer side effects.”
You’d be right to think these exclamations do not appear genuine and not just because the so-called bombs are suspect.
Some bomb technicians who studied photos of the device that circulated on social media suggested that the bomb sent to CNN had hallmarks of fake explosives — the kind more typically depicted on television and in movies, rather than devices capable of detonating.
A digital clock was taped to the middle of the pipe, a feature that experts say is typically shown on fictional bombs in an attempt to ratchet up dramatic tension, but unnecessary in real life.
In fact, bombmakers generally avoid attaching visible clocks to their devices to keep from tipping off their targets about when the bombs are set to explode.
Not just Hollywood “bombs,” but Hollywood timing.
Mark Steyn observes that,
“A plotter competent enough to have all his “suspicious devices” arrive at the homes of half-a-dozen high-profile targets within twenty-four hours of each other is sophisticated enough to know that those devices are not going to get anywhere near close enough to kill or wound those targets”
Mr. Trump (in what passes for the minds of the Left) is too stupid to be so capable, yet the blame for these ‘attacks’ was immediately thrust his way, if not directly then as a result of his Twitter feed or some such thing. But blaming Trump could be a mistake given the recent rhetoric from Clinton and Pelosi and the events of the last 24 months.
Even this sounds threatening and ominous in the current context.
Antifa. Campus Riots. BLM. Occupy Wall Street. The left’s “uprisings” have an inconvenient habit of using violence and intimidation to advance their priorities. Silencing dissent is not just common it is encouraged.
Mobs have been chasing down ‘Republicans’ to harass them in public.
Nearly a dozen Republican candidate or campaign offices this year have been vandalized, along with threatening letters, and intimidation tactics.
The previous President, a Democrat, used the power of the State to harass, surveil, and intimidate the opposition.
And NewHampshire Democrat State Party Chairman Ray Buckley, who is also a DNC National Vice Chair, milks this threatening intolerant tone. Not surprising coming from someone who has indiscriminately labeled over a third of the Granite State’s voters White Supremacists for daring to consider overtures from a pro-Trump group.
Not surprising because he is a Democrat and the “uprising,” to date, has been toxic in its intolerance, abuse, and its indifference to individual rights and liberty.
The club-wielding riot class with the severed head holding celebrities has a public dossier filled with examples of rage and hate. And given how poorly the polling has gone for Democrats since the Kavanaugh crusade, what better way to turn the tables than to magnify the narrative you have unsuccessfully applied to your political opponents.
Sending multiple bombs that will never reach their targets is an ineffective way to kill former presidents, vice-presidents, cabinet secretaries and movie stars …but it’s such an ingenious way to “hijack the debate” that you’d almost think that was its purpose.

Yes, it is possible that some stupid fly-over country Republican with the IQ of a gnat, fed up with the nasty rhetoric of the left, fashioned ‘devices,’ identified targets, determined where to send them, (ignored the odds they’d ever reach the intended target) and coordinated their delivery to arrive days after Pelosi’s threatening remarks, all within roughly one 24-hour news cycle.
It could happen. In a Movie.
Having said that, I do hope they catch whoever did it whatever their motivations because it was a stupid idea that could encourage real mail-bombers and yes, Democrat lives matter.
Real is dangerous. Real has consequences. Real is real.
You know what is real? The polling on how American’s feel about illegal immigration. They don’t like it. They do not buy into the open borders mentality. They are not huge fans of sanctuary policies. They see a growing connection between gangs, crime, and recent drug epidemics and porous borders. And it motivates them to get off the couch and vote.
So, that caravan of so-called asylum seekers marching its way toward our southern border. The one that is probably filling out with narco-terroists, MS-13 gang members, and Islamic terrorists, is the one thing that is likely to go boom. Right around election day.
Democrats might not like (to borrow a phrase from Aunt Nancy) the “collateral damage” to their election hopes which would be ironic. The inside money is on the progressives having something to do with encouraging that as well.
