The New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Instutite Doesn’t Like CACR 6 or CACR 13

Why would we give a damn what Jeff McLynch–Executive Director of the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute–thinks about Republican efforts to push CACR 6 and CACR 13?  It’s a great question.

CACR 6  is a constitutional amendment that would require a 3/5 vote of the legislature to pass any new taxes.  CACR 13 would change the state constitution to prohibit a personal income tax.

Jeff McLynch is “concerned, but Jeff McLynch is a Democrat, the former State Policy Director at the Soros/left wing funded Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP)–which pushed for an income tax in the Granite state (see also here), and Jeff is also an avid Obama supporter.

The New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute he runs is the New Hampshire chapter of the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative, which is a state by state project of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP).  CBPP is a left wing group that promotes the Democrat parties social and economic justice agenda through budget based think tanks and policy organizations with support from the cranky Progressives over at the Bookings Institute and deep pocketed left wing foundations like Ford, Rockefeller and George Soros’ Open Society Institute. So Jeff isn’t working too far out of his known circle of “friends.”

So if you have not yet connected the dots, NHFPI looks all smart and sophisticated but it is really just another socialist/Democrat front group, using the cover of  a welfare-state based (we’re the ones who really care) tax-and-spend-budget policy agenda (Social and Economic Justice) to advocate for the progressive creep of bigger government and the higher and broader revenue streams needed to fund it.

And you don’t have to believe me,  just read what they write about and how they frame it.  It’s plain as day even through all the warm and fuzzy nonsense.  You can tell from the language and the soft spin that this is a Democrat front group.  And a quick look at their staff, board, and associated organizations should remove any doubt that this is an out of state funded left wing project with the goal of  achieving a sales and/or income tax in New Hampshire.

And that would explains why Jeff  McLynch is not feeling warm and fuzzy about a pair of constitutional amendments that would make his under-cover left wing activism in the state almost impossible to pursue further.  So under no circumstances does he want the voters of New Hampshire to decide for themselves how and under what circumstances they will have their property removed from them by the state in the form of taxes.  The legislature must have free reign to tax them into oblivion–in the name of social and economic justice of course.

..Jeff McLynch, executive director of the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute, which advocates for low and moderate income residents, said CACR 6 would force the state to rely on “gimmicks” to balance the budget and could lead to the gridlock that has occurred in states with similar legislation, such as Nevada and California.

“This makes it that much harder to restore funding for things people rely on everyday, whether its higher education — people sending kids to college — or health care for low and moderate income families, having something like CACR 6 in the constitution would make that hard to address this priorities,” he said. He said NHFPI has been in touch with other organizations concerning a possible campaign against CACR 6, along with CACR 13, the income tax ban, should they make it to the ballot.

Jeff McLynch is an Obama Democrat.  He works with Democrats.  And the organization he runs associates with and funded by Democrat run groups.  And he is here to help the NHFPI to needle and prod budgetary policy until big tax changes become inevitable.

More?

Did you know that Sarah Chaisson Warner, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Citizens Alliance (NHCA) in on the Board of Directors of the NHFPI?  The NHCA is an out of state funded left wing group and the New Hampshire chapter of the very progressive USA Action.  They are anything but non-partisan, and is most certainly one of the ‘groups’ the NHFPI would coordinate their opposition with.

The NHCA also appears on their resource links page next to groups like the NEA and the Granite State Fair Tax Coalition.  Note to Jeff– the very partisan GSFTC changed their name in an effort to try and get back under the non-partisan rock…but it didn’t work.  NH-NEA and the Group formerly known as the GSFTC should also be counted among the likley co-conspirators (along with the State Democrat Party and everyone in it) if the NHFPI decides to campaign against these constitutional amendments.  (I have no doubt that they will.)

There is more evidence.  Follow the links and help yourself.   I think I’ve made my point.  These left wing groups are all connected.  So the NHFPI is here to play good left wing cop as it gently coats the Democrat Parties tax-and-spend budget policy agenda with the sugary sweetness of social and economic justice, using all the left handed tools and left wing (non-partisan, cough-cough) support at its disposal.  And they are more than entitled to try.  But you deserve to know who they are connected to and who they like to hang out with.   And remember, the root from which NHFPI is but one branch, still gets it’s sap from the CBPP to advocates for  social and economic justice with funding from groups like the Democracy Allaince.
