Brief thought on the opening of the CNN Prez Debate tonite

I haven’t looked for it yet, but I can guarantee that there will be clips aplenty of how Newt Gingrich unloaded on the prepared, “barely tabloid level” question that CNN host John King tried to bait him with the story / interview of his ex-wife and the subject of open marriage.  You just KNEW that when Newt first responded with “No…..but I will”, he was going to make Chris Christie look like a rank beginner.

I’ll post it as soon as I can find it – UPDATE: THAT didn’t take long!

And Newt was right to hammer King on the question being beneath a Presidential debate.  Remember, as GraniteGrok demonstrated, IS out to embarrass Republican candidates.  Decorum?  None from John King on actually asking questions of substance worthy of the debate.  And yes, he and the rest of his MSM cronies are protecting Obama with this kind of issue deflection.  How much better would that time have been used to talk about the Keystone XL project denial by Obama and the national security implications, and the energy policies Obama is trying to force upon sovereign citizens.  Thus, this quote from Instapundit makes a lot of sense:

“I don’t care if Gingrich was a swinger at this point. If he gets the nod, he gets my vote, because at least he was screwing a woman and NOT AMERICA.”

I leave it as an exercise for the reader as to whom is the real target of the above statement…
