The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.”
– President Barack Obama, Inauguration, 1/20/09
The question is not whether government works, the question is what is the cost to have government succeed? It certainly seems that the cost of government failing seems to be ever increasing! While following the story about the failed solar panel Solyndra (the one that blew through a half trillion of taxpayer dollars sent to a BFOO – Best Friend Of Obama), this caught my eye:
“It’s amusing to consider that Elon Musk has built an entire manned spaceflight program for less money than Obama pissed away on Solyndra. (Well, actually, it’s horrifyingly depressing. But a useful comparison, withal.)
Now, let’s put this into context with the Progressive outlook, as exemplified by Elizabeth Warren (here and here, and yes, she has made herself to be a wonderful punching bag- an overbearing intellectual that has but academic / government experience but little (if any) private industry) whose “intellectual foundation” says that no one, absolutely NO one can succeed on their own.
Who is Elon Musk? For starters, Paypal, Tesla Motors, SolarCity and from the above, SpaceX.
Started all these successful companies (ok, Tesla is a work in progress and has a govt loan) by himself.
