Drip, Drip, Drip, Attorney General Eric Holder. For the most transparent Administration in history, the necessary FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests are showing, more and more, what many Second Amendment Rights advocates feared – that the Obama Government used Fast and Furious as a tactic to get an outcome that was not possible via the legislative route – an increase of regulations on law abiding citizens to achieve an ideological outcome. Using their own straw purchasing proxies, they spent boatloads of taxpayer funds to buy from dealers they told “Oh, don’t be worried” and let them “walk” into Mexico where the drug cartels snapped them up.
And the main reason d’etre for the operation (officially, anyways) was to track them and get the druggies? Er, no.
Well, the tracking part was pretty much as successful as Obama’s economic policies – instead of just throwing money out, here they threw the guns instead and neither tracked the whereabouts of where the stuff landed with any kind of certainty. BUT! Just as with many Liberal ideas, it is the appearance of something that is important and not what the actual result were. Instead, they were almost on the cusp of combining the intent with the ideologically front-ended decision to get more prohibitive gun laws when FOIA brought out that intent – in black and white.
So, like in so many plots before, the coverup is turning out to be worse than the act for those willing to use taxpayer money, break the laws, and get a good man killed with the weapons that they let walk. Keep trying to keep that wall abuilding, Holder – but will it be enough to dim the flashlights of FOIA now looking through the formerly hidden documents and emails?
I think not.
