Still clearing out old drafts (this from 4/13/2011) that got kicked to the curb for some reason and finding that many are “timeless”:
No, they shouldn’t. But you, Madam Pelosi, and folks like you, both Democrat and Republican, have made them matter – a great deal.
It’s like pouring molten plastic into the interstitial spaces between the cells of a body – once in, you can’t get it out. Oh sure, you can bring out a scalpel, and hack pieces of it out, but you can’t get rid of its effects; where it has cooled, one is rewarded with tissue and stuff frozen in place – no movement, no activity, and in the case of Government, little freedom. Like water, Progressives can find all kinds of cracks and spaces – and will try to fill them with some cockeyed purpose of Government.
Even it it kills the host (like hot plastic).
