Two pieces of information caught my attention today. The first was that Iran plans to send ships up against the Gaza blockade–clearly to incite a military response from Israel, the second was this.
“The Saudis have given their permission for the Israelis to pass over and they will look the other way,” said a US defence source in the area. “They have already done tests to make sure their own jets aren’t scrambled and no one gets shot down. This has all been done with the agreement of the [US] State Department.”
I’m sure Iran is aware of this. I just find the timing "interesting."
For those who think that conflict can be avoided, I suggest you go hide in a cellar somewhere. Regardless of their opinion of Israel, most of these "Arab" nations have no desire to deal with a nuclear Iran. And despite all the saber rattling and condemnation of the Israelis–until that Iranian threat is eliminated they need Israel.
That’s not to say they wont side with Iran after the nuclear sites have been bombed. But then Isreal probably already knows that.
But what will Obama do after Isreal does the job America just wont do? Isreal can;t feel comfortbale given recent developments between the two nations.
