The Democrats ran a statewide campaign to tie every House Republican candidate to Bill O’Brien before the election.
They didn’t run a statewide campaign against Gene Chandler or anyone else who might want to be speaker. The Obama agenda is apparently not threatened by Gene Chandler or scheming Party insiders. Only Bill O’Brien.
So if Bill O’Brien represents the single biggest threat to the Democrats Obama agenda in New Hampshire before the election, is it safe to say he represents the biggest threat to the Obama agenda after the election? Democrats thought so and still do.

The federal waiver that has been in place since 2010 because of the recession has been allowed to expire in the state of Maine. This allows Maine to reinstate a mandate requiring able-bodied adults who are 18 to 50 years old and have no children to work or volunteer 20 hours per week or they will be limited to three months of food stamp benefits over a three-year period.

Jean Wade, in her 50’s, said she lives modestly on disability payments. As she carried bags of food to her car one recent morning, she said that too many young people in the area, including her own son, are willing to accept food stamps and work under the table. “They sneak around doing odd jobs and getting paid,” she said. “We need to be whipped into shape.”

One of the richest companies on the planet (Google) along with well heeled left-wing opportunists posing as an energy concern, wanted to build a bad idea but couldn’t get anyone else to help pay for it. So they ask Democrats in the department of energy for money–post Solyndra etc., Democrats in California–always willing to make rate payers pay through the nose for their “religion,” and the next thing you know they’ve got a risky, under-performing solar plant shrine that is a threat to man, and nature.

There is a great piece over at Hot air that runs the numbers so to speak on super-PAC’s, anti-Super PAC’s and epic failure on the part of several who spent billions for nothing by banking on issues like Campaign finance reform, Income equality, Abortion, and the environment.
All Democrat Holy Grails, all heavily financed by outside groups or individuals, all losers in 2014.
Here are the closing two paragraphs
There isn’t really much mystery to this. Poll after poll showed that the issues that voters had most on their minds were the economy, government operation, jobs, and the deficit. Gallup’s analysis showed that climate change and contraception were among the “bottom five” issues in the midterms, and gun control and “big money in elections” didn’t even make it onto the list. They were even in the bottom five among Democrats. Income inequality also ranked as a second-tier issue.
Liberal Democrat Jeanne Shaheen sold herself as this reach across the aisle role-model, as if she had a chronic case of whatever the OCD equivalent of bipartisanship might be. The truth was far different. She backed president Obama’s agenda 99% of the time which makes her a good Democrat, a liar (sorry, that’s redundant), and lucky all at the same.
Having won re-election when most of her soon to be former Democrat Colleagues suffered might suggest to Jeanne that continuing to do the Obama version of the hokey-pokey is still a dance worth doing.
“You put your left hand in, you chop their right hand off, You grab their bloody stump and you drag their ass across…(to your side of the aisle)”
That’s “Obama bi-partisan,” and Shaheen is Obama’s 99%. She may not feel any reason to change. But that might not be the best course of action for one of the few Democrats still left standing on ‘the island’ after Tuesday November 4th.
