“The New Hampshire Health Protection Plan is the largest corporate welfare scheme in New Hampshire history”

NH Medicade is Bradley CareThere is a great Editorial in the Union Leader today on why Health Care giants support extending expanded Medicaid in New Hampshire: It’s a taxpayer-backed gold mine for them. We “subsidizes mediocre health insurance plans for low-income able-bodied adults without children” and the Health Care giants get paid. Plus, there’s no guarantee it will save people paying for their own insurance a dime. But if history has any lessons to teach, it won’t.

“…expanding Medicaid hasn’t done anything to hold down health insurance costs in New Hampshire. Nor can those advocating for the program promise that these lower uncompensated care costs will be passed along to customers.

Super Tuesday 2016

But things are getting serious. Five days ago Lindsey Graham was joking about murdering Ted Cruz and now he is (almost?) ready to back him. (Help me Obi Wan Kenobi….)

Excerpt of an email from a local Massachusetts Grassroots group door-knocking for Ted Cruz.  Printed with permission.

The door knocking for the day was thrilling. Despite hearing polls telling how Ted Cruz was down in MA, my friend and I truly relished the public service of campaigning and discussing the campaign with people who were mostly still undecided. Yes most “undecided” on Sunday. Every single person I talked to thanked us for our service. A few Trump supporters abruptly told us they were “all set”.

As my friend and I continued to complete the remaining three-quarters of our walk books, our progress came to a screeching halt as my car was front ended, nearly collided – face to face – commando style by a fully loaded policeman.

UL on Christie Endorsement – “Boy, were we wrong”

Chris christies sinking ship

Our hats off to Joe McQuaid for penning an editorial of apology for their poor judgement in choosing to endorse Chris Christie for President.

Watching Christie kiss the Donald’s ring this weekend — and make excuses for the man Christie himself had said was unfit for the presidency — demonstrated how wrong we were. Rather than standing up to the bully, Christie bent his knee. In doing so, he rejected the very principles of his campaign that attracted our support.

What if Mass Transit Does NOT Save…Anything?

Is Rail a wasteful proposition?
Is commuter Rail a wasteful proposition?

The assumption sold by planners and their mass-transit water carriers is that publicly funded public transportation is a public good. They still tell that tale, but now the emphasis is on how public transportation is essential to saving the planet. Mass transit makes for a better environment.

But does it?

It’s Time To Challenge Our Lazy, Politically Homogeneous Teachers

Breitbart Whether liberal, libertarian or conservative, we’re united by one common belief: students should be able to read what we want, watch what we want, play the video games we want, and most importantly, think what we want. And if colleges refuse to expose us to new ideas by employing politically homogeneous faculties, we’ll do the hard work ourselves, … Read more
