The U.S. is hugely generous to those who can’t afford to pay for health care.

Hospitals spend more than $40 billion a year doing so. Doctors generously provide billions of dollars worth of free or discounted care to those who need help. There are various philanthropies that raise billions each year for charity care.  And that’s to say nothing of the existing government programs. Taxpayers fork over $415 billion a year so Medicaid can provide health care for the poor, and another $500 billion for Medicare. There’s the VA for veterans and various state-run programs as well.

Presser: “I fully intend to support the Senate plan during the Senate Session on Thursday as I know it meets our shared goal of increasing access to coverage while also taking vitally important steps to protect our taxpayers from the failures of ObamaCare”

Thoughts:

• You ARE voting to implement an aspect of Obamacare tomorrow – as Medicaid Expansion was a fundamental linchpin that Obama wanted to get more people covered under a Federal Government mandated and regulated “universal healthcare”

• Simply banking on the phrase “we’ll do this using private insurance” only changes the mode of delivery – the mode of payment is still Federal Medicaid Expansion money

• Tell me, Senator, you took an oath to protect and defend the US Constitution – where does it say that the Federal Government is responsible for your healthcare and mine?  Or is the US Constitution of that little concern (and yes, it is time we all start looking at it again and ask “Is this allowed)?

Final summary thought:  So, we have to implement Obamacare in order to save ourselves from it?

…True tea party members don’t represent a majority of the House GOP or the Senate GOP — not even close, in fact — but their influence and the party’s increasing emphasis on conservative purity have made them hold such sway that Americans see little daylight between folks like Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) or Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio). People in Washington may know those members are quite different, but that doesn’t mean it’s the conventional wisdom outside D.C.

Now, all of this comes with one giant caveat that we think is worth emphasizing.

And that is this: As much as people think today’s GOP is too conservative, basically the same number see today’s Democratic Party as too liberal. While 43 percent see the Republican Party as too conservative, slightly more (46 percent) say the Democratic Party is too liberal.

In fact, most of them see you all as rather ignorant and dumb – you have to led by them and you should just accept Government’s pronouncements as “settled”  under the rubric of: “it will be good for you – and you will be thanking us later“.  So, I’m going start this post to record these “gaffes”, which will be bumped and updated as more disparaging views from Democrats come to light.  I’ll even be even handed – I bet there are a few Progressive / Ruling Class  Republicans who will fit in well with this group of ill repute.  And if you hear of others, let me know!

Dear Senator Boutin,

I have been hearing from a number of our constituents, all of whom are asking us not to pass in any form, this expanded medicaid program that is being debated during this special session.

As of tonight, I have seen no public statements, or emails showing that you are opposed to the passage of this faulty legislation. Therefore, I assume that you are working to pass this. I have attempted to contact you several times through both phone calls to your cell phone as well as to your state house office. To date I have not heard back from you in person.

Therefore:

1. Please vote NO on any form of expanded medicaid, vote NO on the adoption of any amendment, vote NO on any house bill that makes it over during this special session.

On May 19 of this year, Francois Gissy claimed a new land speed world record by reaching 263 km/h (163 mph) on a rocket-powered bicycle. Now the flying Frenchman has gone even faster, hitting a peak speed of 285 km/h (177 mph) in just 6.7 seconds, making it the fastest anyone has ever ridden a bicycle.   The 285 km/h run took place at Interlaken, Switzerland, on October 7 on just 790 m (2,590 ft) worth of usable track. The acceleration phase of the Hublot-sponsored run took 350 m (1,148 ft), with the remainder of the track required for braking.

This should be done in a SNAP (oh wait, that’s “Food Stamps”).  We have been told, over and over, that PROGRESSIVE Govt (activist govt that runs everything and everybody for our own good) is best!  Run by all kinds of experts and technocrats that know how to make things run perfectly in perfectly non-partisan fashions.  Of COURSE, we software folks all know that it is ALWAYS the front end of a project that takes the 3.5 years to write (/sarcasm).  We were led to believe by Progressive Obama, Progressive Sebelius, and all of the Progressive underlings that Healthcare.gov “was almost all done – just tweaking now”!  Functional by Nov 30 by 80% of American citizens (even though the Experts promised an Oct. 1 complete date).

Sure it works (/more sarcasm) – but nobody can pay for the plan that they might be able to see as long as their personal data doesn’t get hijacked and the right subsidies are presented for the correct pricing (er, that still isn’t working either?).  But not to fear, PROGRESSIVES reason d’etre is government by Experts – in all areas.  Including, I guess, lying by commission (er, Obama and that whole “keeping” schtick) and lying by omission:

On WMUR’s CloseUp yesterday, Greg Moore of AFP/NH and Zandra Rice-Hawkins of Granite State Progress went tete-a-tete over the Medicaid Expansion here in NH.  I’ll be popping up some video about her attempting to make the equivalence that Obamacare is the same as the US Constitution (yes, she really did!) but she did make one claim that is an outright lie: that the American People WANT Obamacare.  Sure they do, Zandra – but only when your brain matter is drifting along in the Progressive Dystopia that you all are trying to foist upon our futures.

Since the time that Obamacare was written, legislated, and passed by a single Party (and that only after bribes were given, and all predicated on Obama and the Democrats lying to the American Public about its results), poll after poll after poll has shown a majority of Americans are against Obamacare.  Not even your best impersonation of King Canute can change it – and it is getting worse to boot.  Obamacare has caused LESS people to have healthcare insurance and not more:  First, Gallup is showing, more and more, the American People believe that it is NOT the responsibility of Government to ensure that people have healthcare coverage:

Almost a week ago Executive Councilor Ray Burton died leaving what has become a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for others to seriously have a chance of winning his District 1 seat, covering half the state geographically.   On Tuesday, Gov. Maggie Hassan announced the candidate filing period will begin next week. She also announced that the primary election will be held on Jan. 21, and if necessary, a general election on March 11, which is town meeting day.

Predictions from insiders about this special election are all over the place: some believe there will be multiple candidates running from both parties, while others think there could be just one Republican and one Democrat. As candidates begin to line up, there is a big list of possible candidates. Some of them are privately playing out a run with friends and some are not, but could.

Oh, this is gonna up the stock price of Bepto Bismol – and more than a few NH State Senate Republicans ought to start heading to the stores now – like Jeb Bradley, Chuck Morse, and Nancy Stiles.  All the best laid plans – upset by DC Republicans who actually think spending less is a good thing.  So, what will the reaction and the politics be of this?  Instability of “Federal Price Support” – is this threesome willing to have taxes rise on NH Citizens much sooner?  No kicking of the can three years downfield (heck, it could be THREE months downline – how’s that gonna play out?).  After all, it WAS supposed to be the Republican play to not help Obamacare along???  From National Journal (not exactly a conservative place) (emphasis mine, reformatting):

Republicans Push Plan to Renege on Medicaid Promise

During the nasty campaign for Virginia governor last month, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis., tried to poke a hole in Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe’s pledge to tap the full federal funding promised to states for expanding their Medicaid programs. “The notion that the federal government is going to keep matching Medicaid spending at this level is a notion that is just a faulty premise. It’s going to get cut,” Ryan said on a conference call with Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli in late October.  Now Ryan’s right-hand man on the Budget Committee, Rep. Tom Price, and other House Republicans are pushing a plan that would ensure those federal dollars do not come through.

Price, a Georgia doctor, brought up the issue during a meeting of the budget conference committee on Wednesday, arguing that by forcing states to pay for at least a portion of their expanded Medicaid programs, Congress could mitigate some of the sequestration cuts—a key goal for Democrats on the committee.

After all, Democrats are famous for mandating spending – and then stiffing the States in the end.  Ask yourself, how well has NH done with Federal Special Ed Funding?  Get it started and then leave the States in a lurch like a cheap date.  Why am I getting that feeling again?  Oh yeah, listen to what some DC Republicans are proposing!

Medicaid Expansion – why are Republicans hellbent on participating in Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion here in NH?  The Supreme Court deemed it unconstitutional for the Obama Administration to force it upon NH (and any other State).  Yet, we see NH Republicans pushing to enact it. For years, we have argued that Republicans should be following the Platform – it can’t get any plainer or clearer on this than this:

• Oppose the implementation of Obamacare in New Hampshire
• Increase the use of market forces to improve health care and lower costs
• Allow free market driven health care plans and “ala carte” insurance plans free from government mandates. Allow purchase of insurance plans across state lines

Simple: no part of Obamacare should the Republicans help.  Yet, what are they doing instead?  Yeah, arguing over the terms of appeasement – the Jr. Partners with the Democrats in expanding the Welfare State. I just can’t dream up words that could cover this over.  All I get is hostility and “stop attacking Republicans” – but when they act completely 180 to the Platform, they bring this upon themselves.  Well, activists and the Base have had it – now there is pushback.  I received this news:

Former Rep. Fred Leonard is trying to gather the names of 50 state committee members in order to call a meeting of the party to protest the Medicaid expansion bill.  I’ve signed on and am contacting every state committee member I know to do the same.

OK, sirs, I invite you BOTH to come on GrokTALK! to really talk about why you BOTH, Right & Left, disagree with TEA Party Principles.  A half hour, an hour, or our full two hours – you’ll get plenty of time to say your piece(s) and we’ll debate it.  We’ll record it – and live stream it.  We’ll set up our phone lines – supporters of both of you will be able to call in! This is a serious offer – the Schism between the TEA Party and the Establishment Republicans AND that between the TEA Party and the Progressives.  Think of the possibilities of you both ganging up on we Groksters.  We’ll defend the essence of what the TEA Party is about:

• Adherence to Constitutional boundaries (for Government)
• Fiscally Frugality( that keeps Govt spending within our means)
• Free Markets (instead of Crony Capitalism perpetuated by both sides of the aisle)

Gosh, at one time (and not all that long ago, either!) holding those Values were seen as the norm (and not “extremists”).  But no, TEA Party folks have been accused of all KINDS of things by others – snide remarks and epithets that make for “political moments” even as those  three widely accepted tenets of the Movement try to stop the Government from insinuating itself into almost every nook & cranny of our lives, spending money it doesn’t have ($17 Trillion) , and making our economy worse than Europe’s with regulations being economic equivalent of an MMA rear naked choke.

For this, NH GOP RNC Committeeman Steve Duprey accused the TEA Party of being “Flat Earthers”  and “anarchists” (my response here).  Yesterday, NH Democrat Party Chairman Ray Buckley (who has called us extremists too many times to count, among other things) decided to retweet the following while we were talking with AFP/NH Exec.
