Dear Senator Boutin,
I have been hearing from a number of our constituents, all of whom are asking us not to pass in any form, this expanded medicaid program that is being debated during this special session.
As of tonight, I have seen no public statements, or emails showing that you are opposed to the passage of this faulty legislation. Therefore, I assume that you are working to pass this. I have attempted to contact you several times through both phone calls to your cell phone as well as to your state house office. To date I have not heard back from you in person.
Therefore:
1. Please vote NO on any form of expanded medicaid, vote NO on the adoption of any amendment, vote NO on any house bill that makes it over during this special session.
2. Please ask for, [or 2nd] a roll call vote request on every amendment, procedural motion as well as the final passage of the bill. For a bill that potentially will destroy the NH advantage, I want every vote recorded on that day in the journal!
Regardless, there will be people in the gallery taking notes and videotaping on how the Senate members vote. (Please note: a division vote is unacceptable for this measure or any of the prior motions).
3. I want you to publicly tell your constituents where you stand. This change to NH law is too significant to let it just happen. Please send me a response that can be set to those who live in Senate district 16 stating your stance on this measure
Lastly, I have been, and will continue to be one of the House Members leading the fight to oppose the unprecedented expansion of a faulty government program, a program that is being funded by a federal government that is $17,000,000,000,000.00 in debt and a government that cannot even manage to keep the USPS running, something that there is a constitutional requirement to do. I am willing to look for a NH solution, but a NH solution to the expensive healthcare/medical insurance costs that families have does not require us to be handcuffed to the federal government. Let’s start helping these families, not just leaving them in a broken medicaid system.
