In fact, most of them see you all as rather ignorant and dumb – you have to led by them and you should just accept Government’s pronouncements as “settled” under the rubric of: “it will be good for you – and you will be thanking us later“. So, I’m going start this post to record these “gaffes”, which will be bumped and updated as more disparaging views from Democrats come to light. I’ll even be even handed – I bet there are a few Progressive / Ruling Class Republicans who will fit in well with this group of ill repute. And if you hear of others, let me know!

A nice example of how Progressives view this country’s citizens: if you don’t think like I do, an Enlightened one, or agree with me, you are simply trash. Which leads to the next item.
- Michelle Obama (First Lady of the US): “…for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback“
Doesn’t matter what this country’s people have accomplished, it sucked until my husband became President. Nice to see how you view the rest of us, that no one BUT Barack could bring hope (as we certainly can’t have that attitude in and by ourselves)
- US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan (w/regards to those fighting the top-down Federal takeover of the US Educational system via Common Core: “…white suburban moms who — all of a sudden — their child isn’t as brilliant as they thought they were, and their school isn’t quite as good as they thought they were.” Not only does he throw the Race Card, he shows the disdain of the Elite for those that live in Suburbia (as folks like Duncan would rather be in Afghanistan, it seems, than live in the ‘burbs” where live is just so, well, pedestrian and low brow). How DARE they, this technocratic expert thinks, believe that these Moms know better what their kids do than we “professionals” – “shut up and do what we tell you to do, you who are even dumber than your kids!”
- US Interior Secretary Sally Jewell: The “new energy future” will require the federal government to encourage “the right kinds of behavior”
Translation; ou wouldn’t know a “right kind” of behavior if it ran up and bit you in the butt. Don’t worry, my dears, our esteemed appointed leaders will make sure that we follow their correct path.
- NH State Senator Kathy Sgambati: “Everybody in the chamber respects personal freedoms and individual rights,” said Sen. Kathleen Sgambati, a Tilton Democrat. “but we’re also trying to ensure that all citizens in the state have the protection they need. It’s unclear to me how you can possibly have all the benefits of coverage without everyone being under the tent.”
“All Citizens” – the Collective. Yes, she believes, not in the Founders’ believe in Freedom and Liberty, but of the Progressive mantra: Security and Safety in which Individual Freedoms and Liberties must be, by definition, subsumed to the Collective. Equality is achieved only when all have equally in society; never is it mentioned that in order to achieve this “Heaven on Earth” requires that Freedom and Liberties of some MUST be violated in order to achieve it. The State MUST hold the control and coercive and hold primacy – and not the Individual.
In the Progressive mind, Freedom is not to be “freedom from”. Notice Sgambati’s “WE” – my take is that this is “WE who rule” vs “we who merely govern”. Note that she spouts the Progressive mantra: you WILL be included in the Village; there is no Freedom simply to be left alone. In this she is no better than the Borg (“you WILL be assimilated”).
- NH State Rep. Leigh Webb: “The role of government is to legislate behavior“
Once again, in a single sentence, we see the underlying mantra of the totalitarianism that is the Progressive Democrat agenda: You WILL do what we tell you to do – and we are redefining “freedom” such that you still think you have some.
- NH State Rep. Kris Roberts: “Government has to protect us from our own stupidity.”
Effectively, none of us have the intellectual horsepower to make right decisions for ourselves. The hubris is that this seems to hold true right up until that singular microsecond just before a Democrat wins an election – then they become a veritable Einstein. Who knew that becoming smart was simply accruing one more vote than your opponent?
With both Webb and Roberts, there is NO room for the individual – Government has now been placed above the populace (a complete reversal of what was the Founding Vision).
- US President Barack Hussein Obama: …that my individual salvation is not going to come about without a collective salvation for the country. Unfortunately, I think that recognition requires that we make sacrifices and this country has not always been willing to make the sacrifices that are necessary to bring about a new day and a new age.”
Who knew that I had no choice in having to join his religion without saying “yes”? This Obama theology is not Christian orthodoxy for sure. Freedom of religious express be damned, I guess, as it appears that he has no qualms in forcing us all into his religion, like it or not. Else, how would Progressives like him get us all to “make” the sacrifices to enable him to earn his salvation (else the rest of us would tell them to bug off)? Christian theology is that your salvation is not earned by the collective but by the single gift of sacrifice by Jesus Christ who died for all of our sin: one for all.
Obama, seemingly, believes and states: all for one. And the only instrument that can encompass “all” is the force that Government can bring. That has no place in the theology I believe in – guess that’s why I cannot believe that Big Government can ever give us the “heaven on earth” that Communists / Socialists / Utopians believe possible. “Perfection” requires holiness – and no other fallen man can give another that which they do not possess. Holiness is of and by God – not Man.
And the greatest example of the disdain in which a Progressive / Socialist has held our country:
- US President Barack Obama: “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.“
I cannot conceive of any higher level of conceit of a Democrat towards his country than this – that it is so awful that it must be totally be redone.
And that he is absolutely convinced that he is (the only) person in the country that is capable of doing it.
