The Jr. Senator from NH was on the Howie Carr show as TMEW and I went out to do some errands right after supper tonight.  We missed the beginning of her segment but it was clear that people were switching from talking about Obamacare to illegal aliens, immigration, and Amnesty.  And they were not happy!  And I really don’t think that Kelly Ayotte was all that happy about having to defend her Kerry-esque monster flip-flop on this issue as she had campaigned for really being against amnesty.  The segment has already been posted over at WRKO.com and a rough transcript (automated? It really IS rough) is there as well (I have put the relevant part of the transcript after the jump).  The title of this post comes from the fact that Howie went after her about deporting the illegals that are here.  Howie does lay into her and almost all of the callers, especially those from NH, go even further All she could do is balefully try to deflect by demanding “I’ve not seen the plan” by which 11 million illegals would be transported as if Howie and his callers had to PROVE to her they had done her legwork – to fulfill HER campaign rhetoric!

Why not? On this issue, she’s given us the classic Establishment Republican “bait and switch” (aka “I was against it before I’m now for it”) when it comes to illegal aliens and Amnesty.  She is now willing to support Amnesty as shown by her vote to pass the Senate’s “comprehensive immigration reform” bill as opposed to when she was campaigning. How do I know this?  Well, this is why politicians hate to be recorded – and GraniteGrok was at the AFP/NH – Cornerstone action Senatorial debate on June 9th, 2010 when she was campaigning.  Video after the jump for Question 11:

NH GOP Platform:  Strongly oppose new taxes and fees, including an income, sales or capital gains tax

NH Constitution:

[Art.] 6-a. [Use of Certain Revenues Restricted to Highways.] All revenue in excess of the necessary cost of collection and administration accruing to the state from registration fees, operators’ licenses, gasoline road tolls or any other special charges or taxes with respect to the operation of motor vehicles or the sale or consumption of motor vehicle fuels shall be appropriated and used exclusively for the construction, reconstruction and maintenance of public highways within this state, including the supervision of traffic thereon and payment of the interest and principal of obligations incurred for said purposes; and no part of such revenues shall, by transfer of funds or otherwise, be diverted to any other purpose whatsoever.

Yeah, these 17 Republican “we’re for lower taxes!” Reps folded like wet tissue on the “Strongly oppose” bit when it came to vote on the gas tax (upping the gas tax by 23% to add another 4.2 cents per gallon on a price that is already skyrocketing before the summer season starts!) and supported the 96% of the Democrats that voted for it as well.  As well as the Republican NH State Senator Raush that proposed it in the first place.

…The massive show of federal force in the Bundy case is frightening because it gives us a brief glimpse of the totalitarian regime that awaits a sleeping populace that does not take seriously its voting responsibilities, and places in public office (and returns them to office) who do not represent traditional American values.

The fact that the ranchers were well armed and willing to literally fight for their rights probably tempered the enthusiasm of the federal forces to engage in further aggression. Consistency builds Trust yielding Votes.  Been saying that for a while now but it seems that the Elected Republicans, members of the so called “Stupid Party”  can’t even figure out this simple truth.  So why should they be surprised when their Inconsistency to their so called Principles yields “UNtrust” – and less voters.  From a comment left on my post on Republicans being the Jr. Partners of the Democrat Party in raising the gas tax:

I personally have had it with the NH GOP. I have been calling and calling and done all the things you’re supposed to do but the NH GOP has turned a deaf ear to NH republicans. This is the last straw. I was waiting to give the Republicans a chance to save the day but they simply refuse to side with the people in this downward economic death spiral our country is in.

I will go down to my town hall today and un-enroll as a Republican and now declare myself an Independent.

And this is how it will go, until the NH GOP becomes a token party as it is in Massachusetts.

Not me saying this but from yet another voter that has decided to let the Party sail over the horizon without them.  I know who he is – a very principled fellow that no longer believes the Party’s rhetoric as its actions of its elected politicians drown out the rhetoric’s now hollow words.  I’ve been telling the Party Elite and high elected politicians this for a while – and they just won’t take to heart that they are doing this to themselves.  So, once more I will drag out that “conversation” for emphasis:

This will have dire consequences and cost ramifications for NH businesses and taxpayers. Her Status Quo mentality and failure to advance New Hampshire’s economy, on any level, is at fault here. S&P downgrades NH’s credit outlook to negative (emphasis mine, reformatted): 

CONCORD – A Wall Street rating group slapped a black mark onto New Hampshire’s credit outlook, warning policy makers the state is in a “thin financial position” because a state tax ruled unconstitutional has few resources to replace it. The outlook of Standard & Poor’s on Tuesday sent political leaders in both parties scrambling, some to affix blame on the opposition for the fiscal mess and others, like Gov. Maggie Hassan, urging this be the turning point to bring about a bipartisan compromise. The startling statement comes less than two weeks after a Hillsborough County Superior Court judge found the Medicaid Enhancement Tax unlawful because hospitals pay it and other health care providers do not.  The finding does not raise the cost of New Hampshire lending, but in changing the state’s outlook from “stable” to “negative,” it signals investors should watch and policy makers should act in these closing weeks of the 2014 session.

And to think that our own US Senator Jeanne Shaheen and her sidekick US CongressCritter Carol SEIU-Porter were in on this lie gag on the American people.  Sure, we laughed at the website – that was a bonus (and, umm, it still doesn’t work on the backside either) but we also claimed “supply and demand” would be a huge problem and access to actual medical care (instead of access to just healthcare insurance) is the next huge Democrat bottomless hole.  After all, while Obama can change the law seemingly at whim (and why Shaheen & CSP let him both create and execute Law, effectively making Congress irrelevant in our Republic form of govt), he can’t just snap his fingers and FORCE doctors to take his Obamacare enrollees.  Or will Shaheen, Kuster, and Shea-Porter let him?  From PJ Tatler (emphasis mine, reformatted):

In the UL today, ramifications of Walt Havenstein’s abortion equivocation on CloseUP were discussed with NH Rep Kathleen Souza saying “he’s toast” due to his pro-choice stance even as he claims he is pro-life personally; the “I was for it before I was against it” argument is not going to fly for those of us who believe that the Right To  Life IS a fundamental Principle that should trump any political win.  But then we come to Doug Scammon with whom I have had a row on this issue before and it looks like it isn’t stopping any time soon.

But a prominent New Hampshire Republican said the party lost the White House and U.S. Senate two years ago because of abortion.

“The far-right Republicans don’t understand that winning is the most important part of an election,” said Doug Scamman, a former New Hampshire House speaker who called himself a pro-choice Republican. “If Republicans are going to win in the future, they’ve got to put that behind them.”

That first line is nonsense – abortion was only one of many issues that were at play and the deciding issue was not that but was the superb Democrate get out the vote ground game and his Establishment Republicans sucked at it.  They got more people out to vote and 5 million Republican voters sat on their hands.

Sidenote: and I do wonder if it was because of folks like Scammam telling other Republicans “shut up and vote for the Party regardless” that caused it?

Want us to join you in your quest for a better Earth?  This ain’t the way to do it.  But it is rather amusing to watch this overblown self-righteous Prius driver take on a farmer and his family for that sin of sins – driving a truck!  Yessiryee bob – even if you need such a tool to help with chores, this nitwit can’t see beyond her own enviro-religious outlook that some things that use diesel power (and lots of it) can and should be used.  Lady, how big of a trailer do you think your rinky-dink Prius can pull full-loaded (I’m sure he pulls his horses around at times)?  Or how well would a plow work fer ya (the visualization of the back wheels off the ground immediately comes to mind).

Yes, as noted this has been around since 2011 but it still illustrates a message.  No, not all of the enviros are this obnoxious – but their desire to control how the rest of us are to live is the same.

Now that the recent legal action taken by five area Democrats against Rep. Worsman and myself has been denied by Judge James D. O’Neill III, Belknap County Superior Court, I would like to comment on this most unfortunate and wasteful county lawsuit. The term “lawfare” comes to mind. By definition, “lawfare” is the weaponizing of our legal system and using it as a blunt instrument.

Now, this suit, brought forth by Rep. Ruth Gulick, (New Hampton/Center Harbor) and Reps. Beth Arsenault, (Laconia); Lisa DiMartino, (Gilford/Meredith); Ian Raymond, (Sanborton), and David Huot, (Laconia); alleged Belknap County Delegation Chair, Colette Worsman, and I, Jane Cormier, Clerk, violated the Right to Know Law by permitting Rep. Comtois, (Barnstead) to participate by phone at a February 18 meeting.  Because Rep. Comtois voted NOT to pass the Commissioners’ budget for 2014, as proposed by the Democrats, the vote was a tie – 7 to 7 and the motion did not pass.  Well after this vote occurred, Rep. Worsman and I were served by the Sheriff. The next day, on March 4, the County Convention voted to pass the Convention budget containing a modest 1.5% increase versus a much larger 8+% increase as proposed by the Commissioners.  While it is clear the Democrats did not like losing, they apparently liked Rep. Worsman and me even less…
