The killing of coal by the Administration that I wrote about here?  Simply because:

• the GAIA worshipping environmentalist ideology has completely wormed its way into Government to grasp the levers of power.
• Progressives, once again, FORCING the rest of us to live our lives in ways THEY approve of – our opinions don’t matter.

In doing so, they will go well past “fundamentally transform” the United States – they are going to completely move us to a Second World nation.  And for what?

All this for what will amount to 0.018 degrees F by 2100.

Yeah, only a 0.018 difference in the temperature of the Earth.  Anything that is done here in the US will be totally swamped out of focus by both Russia and China (not to mention all the developing nations all aspiring to be First World.

Does it make you uneasy and mad that the rules that are set down for us can be ignored by those that impose them upon us?  Shades of Ian Underwood’s testimony:

The first is that a bill like this undermines respect for the very rule of law itself. After all, if the legislature isn’t going to respect the limits placed on it by the NH Constitution, then why should individuals respect the limits placed on them by that legislature — whether regarding guns, or schools, or traffic laws, or anything else?

Or in this case, the Bureaucracy?  If it cannot obey its authorizing statutes, laws, and regulations, why do we need to follow them?  Otherwise, we are left with “Government by Hypocrisy” – and millions did not sacrifice and die for that.

Why?  When I circulated this around to the other Groksters, Steve immediately replied:

“Guy who barely voted with Republicans 6 out of 10 times supports Scott Brown who voted with Democrats 6 out of 10 times.” 

Indeed!   NH Rep. Rick Ladd, Grafton 4, had an HRA score of 64.2% – FAR less in line with the NH GOP Platform than that “Reagan magic number” of 70-80% “with me” and well within that margin of RINOland.  Consistency and Trust – as a Republican, are you feeling good about being able to Trust his Consistency on his votes to give him yours?  If you are voting for a Republican, is it not a decent expectation for that Republican to support Republican Principles?  Why the reason for the move?

Rep. Rick Ladd, R-Haverhill, said in a statement that he initially supported Rubens’ and is now “disappointed” by Rubens’ initial refusal to pledge to support Brown should Brown win the GOP Senate nomination.

…In a statement from Ladd released by the Brown campaign, Ladd says, “Jim Rubens is a good person and thoughtful candidate. I initially supported Jim’s candidacy, but am disappointed that he has refused to commit to endorsing our eventual nominee for Senate.

For some perspective, a Heritage Foundation analysis of anti-coal policies found that they will destroy more than 500,000 jobs, slash the income of a typical family of four more than $1,400 a year, and increase electricity prices at least 20 percent. Price spikes could be much higher in states that depend heavily on coal-fired power plants, especially in the Midwest. Coal still produces 37% of the nation’s electricity.

All this for what will amount to 0.018 degrees F by 2100.  Trillions spent for a result that can’t be told from “signal noise?”

Unlike Democrats & Progressives that constantly whine about “settled law so shut up!” (when Republicans attempt to undo Democrat law, but then say “I WON” when they repeal Republican laws)and “settled science so shut up!” (“the glaciers are burning due to global warming climate change catastrophic weather!”), we don’t call it “settled history” – we’ll just keep talking about it.  We know that political polarization is such that given a set of actual facts, to which no one disputes (mainly), completely opposite conclusions can be derived.

Yes, Bush went to finish the Iraq War that started with Desert Storm (another reason for WINning wars instead of settling with a stalemate) but a growing democracy was starting in Iraq even after winning the war and almost losing the peace.

Donna Brazile had this had this amazing thing to say:

I have to tell you as somebody who’s observing this race, I’m trying to look at all of these primary races. Low turnout. You got to really go out there in these low turnout elections, although there were a lot more than participated in most primaries. Still, Eric Cantor did not pay attention to his voters. He lost touch with them and he spent the morning of election day, I mean, this is a very important time to be on the local news, not in the national news, the local news, at Starbucks. He should have been Krispy Kreme down in his district. He was out of touch. And the Tea Party is still highly caffeinated. Because the Tea Party is the energy inside the Republican Party. You ignore them, you ignore the base. And that’s a problem. And he ignored the base.

Indeed, one of Cantor’ problem is that he DID ignore the base.  I know of one current NH State Senator that beat the primary opponent for one reason: when she went around to the selectmen and other activists in the district, they went “Wow, we haven’t had visits like this in years!”.  Another problem was immigration which ticked off a lot of people.  And another biggie was that of “hubris” – it didn’t sit well that Cantor was in DC and not actually campaigning; he took it for granted that his name, his leadership position, and all his money meant he’d be a shoo-in.

My US Senator, Kelly Ayotte, campaigned hard against granting Amnesty to illegal aliens – a stance that sits very well with the base here in NH.  Now, 4 years into her term, she has gone hard Left on the issue – Amnesty is GREAT for Republicans!  If the debacle of Eric Cantor primary loss, in part, doesn’t get your attention, Kelly, maybe this will.  And then there is a quote from one of Obama’s illegal alien children Crusaders:

Hmmm, I’m not seeing much in the way of Hispanics (that make up the majority of illegal aliens) of being a “natural Republican constituency”, eh?

And that quote:

“I’ve heard people come in and say, ‘You’re going to let me go, just like you let my mother go, just like you let my sister go. You’re going to let me go as well, and the government’s going to take care of us,’” Cabrera told the outlet. “Until we start mandatory detentions, mandatory removals, I don’t think anything is going to change. As a matter of fact, I think it’s going to get worse.”

Now, unless the Republican Platform has magically changed, last I knew it was all about self-responsibility and a more limited government.  While it is from a kid, this had to have made Democrats smile from ear to ear: “yup, that’s one of ours”!  How can any Republican look at that tendency, the outright call for Government to take care of them and think “that’s a budding Republican right there!”.

No, this is all the stupid notion that Amnesty will help Republicans.  Do that, and you will see a lot of undeclared magically appearing who would also be thinking “why do Republicans care more for people that shouldn’t be here, and that are about to take my job and put my family at risk, than me?”

And I think THAT is one of the primary (if not THE) motivating over Cantor’s loss / Brat’s win – Republicans in the grassroots think that their elected representatives and THEIR Leadership have forgotten what is important to them.  They aren’t, as Progressives / Democrats would have you believe, against immigration.

Steve alerted me this morning that Jazz Shaw over at Hot Air had linked us up on the Karen Testerman announcement that she was dropping out of the race for the NH GOP nomination for US Senate here in New Hampshire AND was endorsing former US Senator Bob Smith.  What caught my attention was a graph that Jazz had put up on data before the announcement:

Jazz had this to say:

Testerman was getting roughly 18 percent support – not inconsiderable in a four way race. Obviously she can’t force her supporters to go in any particular direction, but if her endorsement carries any weight with them, a fair number of those primary voters may indeed go over to Bob Smith. For his part, Smith was already nearly within the margins for going head to head against Shaheen – down by roughly six – and any significant bump from former Testerman voters could easily put him in the lead.

Note that Jazz does the comparison against Jeanne Shaheen.  What is more important, I believe, is that Bob Smith is ALREADY within the margin of error with Scott Brown: 3.2%.  I hardly think this bolsters, in ANY form, Scott Brown’s claim that only HE can defeat Jeanne Shaheen.

Just like the back row Baptists I’ve known over the years.  Sure, they can rattle off Scripture with the best of them (mostly….ok, some) but come the non-Sunday “life”, one would be hardpressed to tell the difference between them and a run-of-the-mill non-attender.  They may have to mouth the “Letter” but not the “Spirit” or real meanings behind the words.

So, too, Democrats – they may be able to quote the words but fail to implement the “spirit” or philosophy behind it – that Government is not meant to be the “all in all” and provide for all needs and obviate all bad consequences.  Remember, they said it – NH State Rep. Sandra Keans (R, now D):

“I don’t try to justify anything by the Constitution, it’s not my job and I don’t want to do it”.

The group plans to contest the 1898 Treaty of Paris, which handed Puerto Rico to the United States, at the International Court of Justice.  According to Fox News Latino, the group, the Puerto Rico Reunification With Spain organization, is seeking to be annexed into Spain given the ethnic history of the island and its separation from Spain through war. Unlike its neighbors Cuba and the Dominican Republic, which fought wars of independence to assert their sovereignty from Spain and Haiti respectively, Spain lost Puerto Rico in 1898 as part of its loss in the Spanish-American War as declared in the Treaty of Paris. Puerto Rico became an American territory and its residents United States citizens, but the territory never became a state.

The US does not formally recognize the ICJ so I’m not sure that would be all that persuasive (although, given the transnational / post-Constitutional elites in DC, anything is possible with this Administration).  Yes, I know that our Civil War was formally fought over, not slavery, but

I listened to WMUR at 6 today as they ran a spot on Maggie’s filing for re-election for NH Governor.  What I heard for being “hypocritical” was her taking credit for implementing Medicaid Expansion and the gas tax.  Absolutely WRONG – she had nothing to do with it.  There is no way she ehould be taking credit for it.  Or any other Democrat either.

Republicans are responsible for them.  Specifically NH State Senator Chuck Morse, NH State Senator Jeb Bradley, NH State Senator Nancy Stiles, and NH State Senator Odell, who did the heavy lifting for this Democrat issue.  And yes, NH State Senator Rausch did the lifting for raising the gas tax.  Both items are contra the NH GOP Platform.  Which is why this email missive is so exasperating.  Consistency, this ain’t:

We’ve seen this before – but that’s the problem with Progressives – no sense of history and repercussions in trying to repeat it with success.  And it would be funny if it wasn’t so serious.  You know, with Ramadi, Fallujah, Mosul, and Tikrit falling to Al Qaeda style affiliates (hey, they’re ALL jihadi Islamists, Obama!), this is a disaster.  The air base, too,  that the Eldest was deployed to with the Second Marine Air during the Iraq War, Al Asad, is in the process of being lost (and even though he was not a door kicker like his brother in the 101st, he still lost friends there).

We spent a lot of our treasure, both financial and in human terms – and Obama’s mind that all he has to royally decree “It is over” and all would bow to him (at least, those to whom he wasn’t bowing to instead).  And now ISIL has established a caliphate in Syria and Iraq that is larger than any other Islamist organization has ever captured.  Speaking of captured, they are also the richest, having walked through the door of the Iraq Central bank and walked back out with $425 million.
