First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances

So, again we have a case where a religious institution is going to be forced by secular humanists to defy their faith because the latter believes THEIR views trumps the former.  Tolerate much? Emphasis mine, reformatted:

The woefully misnamed American Civil Liberties Union is launching a crusade to force Catholic hospitals to act against Catholic moral teachings and the natural law.  This is an un-American attack on religious liberty.  The ACLU’s intentions came to light this week after it threatened to sue Mercy Medical Center in Redding, California, which is operated by the Sisters of Mercy. The hospital is a part of Dignity Health, a nonprofit that operates 40 hospitals — 22 of which are Catholic — in California, Nevada and Arizona.

Well, it is clear that the ACLU (“woefully misnamed American Civil Liberties Union“) doesn’t like the Catholic hospital that wants to practice its religion with respect to its not wishing to participate in sterilization procedures.  That’s on one hand.  Yet, on the other (emphasis mine, reformatted):

The lawsuit was filed on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Local 10 News, a Miami-based ABC affiliate, reported.

LOOK AROUND AT OBAMA AND HILLARY DEFYING THE LAW WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE, and then, even if you read it when it first came out, reread The Coming Middle Class Anarchy. “What’s really important is that law-abiding middle-class citizens are deciding that playing by the rules is nothing but a sucker’s game. . . . When the backbone of a country starts thinking that laws and rules are not worth following, it’s just a hop, skip and a jump to anarchy. Methinks (and a lot of others) believe that the Trump phenomena is really starting to flush out the horror, tears, and sackcloth rendering within the Smart People of the Party.  When it all comes down to it, however, it is all about the slipping away of power from the Establishment as they just can’t control The Donald.  They understand the surge that is his followers and understand that it is they that can throw the real monkey-wrench into all their well laid plans (like the plans of President Ford, Dole, McCain, and Romney).  So we have this stupidness rising again:

The Republican National Committee on Wednesday privately reached out to GOP presidential campaigns to ask whether they’d be willing to sign a pledge stating they would not run as an independent candidate in the event they fail to win the Republican nomination in 2016.  “I [name] affirm that if I do not win the 2016 Republican nomination for president of the United States I will endorse the 2016 Republican presidential nominee regardless of who it is,” the pledge reads. “I further pledge that I will not seek to run as an independent or write-in candidate nor will I seek or accept the nomination for president of any other party.”

At least two campaigns reported they received a call from Katie Walsh, RNC chief of staff, asking if they would be willing to sign such a pledge.

Now we see the promotion of sexual proclivities, now a form of “social religion” and an overt discrimination of religious belief:

It wasn’t so much a choice as it was a demand.Chaplain David Wells was told he could either sign a state-mandated document promising to never tell inmates that homosexuality is “sinful” or else the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice would revoke his credentials.  “We could not sign that paper,” Chaplain Wells told me in a telephone call from his home in Kentucky. “It broke my heart.”The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice revoked his volunteer credentials as an ordained minister– ending 13 years of ministry to underage inmates at the Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

In addition to my last post, there is the work by Secular Progressives / SJWs to have all chaplains that actually preach their faith thrown out of the military and replaced, I guess, with only that that preach a social gospel.  You know, a gospel that isn’t based on The Gospel but on Political Correctness of the day (is an OMG! appropriate here?) (emphasis mine):

Following the Supreme Court’s gay marriage ruling, an activist is calling for the removal of “all homophobic military chaplains” who openly share their biblical views about sexuality, pushing back against claims that gays and lesbians are “sinners” for “choosing” their lifestyle.

Mikey Weinstein, president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, a group that the monitors perceived violations of the separation of church and state, originally proclaimed in an op-ed published following last month’s gay marriage ruling that chaplains vocally opposed to same-sex nuptials and homosexuality should voluntarily vacate their role, or be terminated by the Department of Defense.
