The UL has yet another evergreen piece on if NH would keep its FITN status during Presidential primaries as the RNC is already contemplating changing things up for the next primary.  Nothing new but what caught my eye was the complete idiocy on the part of  NH GOP RNC Committeeman Steve Duprey – it’s like he’s absolutely clueless on the differences between the Federal Government and “the various States” – and the Republican Party:

In any prospective leap-frogging on the nominating calendar, New Hampshire would maintain its leadoff primary status, but face a penalty for delegates not being seated. Anyway, that’s one view or possibility.

Efforts to have a “closed primary” system, closing the door to independents, runs counter to the 10th amendment, which assigns powers not delegated to the U.S. to the states and the people, Duprey contends.

What makes Trump so appealing to so many voters is that the establishment does seem unusually clueless these days. The great American post-Cold War project of seeking peace and security through the construction of a New World Order based on liberal internationalism and American power doesn’t seem to be working very well, and it’s not hard to conclude that neither the neoconservatives nor the Obama-ites really know what they are doing. When it comes to the economy, it’s been clear since the financial crisis of 2008 that something is badly awry and that the economists, so dogmatic and opinionated and so bitterly divided into quarreling schools, aren’t sure how the system works anymore, and have no real ideas about how to make the world system work to the benefit of ordinary voters in the United States. Trump appeals to all those who think that the American Establishment, the Great and the Good of both parties, has worked its way into a dead end of ideas that don’t work and values that can’t save us. He is the candidate of Control-Alt-Delete. His election would sweep away the smug generational certainties that Clinton embodies, the Boomer Progressive Synthesis that hasn’t solved the problems of the world or of the United States, but which nevertheless persists in regarding itself as the highest and only form of truth. . . .

The Left has become emboldened, knowing that the Obama Transformationists have their backs – traditional middle class “fly over” values must be stamped out; anything that overthrows such will be protected.  And those standing up for them, like Brendan Eich, ust be destroyed.  From The Declination (emphasis mine):

The other day, it occurred to me that I have finally become entirely immune to SJW attack. Oh, they can find out who I am and where I live easily enough. Some have already. But I am not concerned with attacks on my person anyway — I am well armed and capable of defending myself.

But they have, in the past, used economic means to come after me. They failed, but I sought to further diversify my income streams to render myself immune to future attacks. I can now say that I am invulnerable to this sort of attack. I have switched to private contracting for the majority of my income. Yes, I still have a day job also, but that is a matter of convenience. I have worked for them for many years, and it has been mutually beneficial. It is a good job. If SJWs were to somehow damage that relationship, however, I could increase my contracting hours by way of compensation and suffer no financial losses.

Instead of sloughing it off on the Executive Branch to fill in their “legislation holes”.  And become “jealous” of both their power AND responsibility to the point of not allowing the Executive Branch and the Courts to fill the Legislative role in our separate branches of governance.  Tennessee – a model to follow?

During the long years of Democratic rule, the Government Operations committees in the Legislature were boring exercises in routine housekeeping legislation. They were often stacked with some of the party’s less than stellar members, because you have to put them somewhere, and they rubber-stamped whatever the leadership wanted.

Like our examples here in NH who collectively couldn’t collectively muster a mild brain fart due to lack of grey matter or political courage.

“Government Ops” under Republican rule has morphed into a very powerful operation, rivaling even the Rules Committee or Finance. The power to regulate state bureaucrats has always been there; it’s just not been exercised until now.
