About to be former NH State Senator Jeanie Forrester (but “selected” to be NH GOP Chair, according to NH GOP Committeeman Steve “Bikini Man On A Plane” Duprey, NH Senate President Chuck Morse and Gov-to-be Chris Sununu) decided that she just had to write an Op-Ed praising Social Security (full piece after the jump).  Curiously (or not, depending on your point of view and leaving aside the debate of whether it is Constitutional and if it should remain a Government pension or privately held) she decided to concentrate on saving it by emphasising how those recipients spend that money:

This outcome will have significant negative ripple effects. The income derived by Social Security benefits kicks off a cascade of events felt throughout the entire economy. That money is spent on goods and services, which supports businesses and creates jobs. But when an older American takes a cut in their already limited budget, he or she will make rational economic choices such as deciding against buying a new car or choosing not to eat out. These choices are felt throughout the economy.

According to a new analysis by AARP, Social Security fuels $1.6 trillion in economic activity in the United States. The cost of doing nothing is estimated to be upwards of $400 billion in lost economic output. Here in New Hampshire we’d see a $2 billion annual loss of economic output, which in turn could cost us around 11,100 jobs.

OK, a bit over the top on that title, but just by a little. After all, they both support Planned Parenthhood, right?  And giving donations to the PP Action Fund, he helped Buckles defeat Kelly Ayotte (all of his verbal protestations aside we all only have to look at his actions). I saw the news when this “avante – garde” (e.g., true socialism in action) small biz opened and decided to throw out all of the regular rules of capitalism (and, not to be too obvious, capitalism) and run it strictly according to socialist thought.  Apparently, they thought that they were “the Right People” socialists have been looking for to implement it.  Ah, the sad (but knowable) end (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Here’s the real story. You need a business filter to see it clearly. In my corporate life I watched lots of new leaders replace old leaders. And there is one trick the good leaders do that bad leaders don’t: They make some IMMEDIATE improvement that everyone can see. It has to be visible, relatively simple, and fast.

Why?

Because humans are not rational. Our first impressions rule our emotions forever. Trump has a second chance to make a first impression because his performance as President is fresh ground. Trump is attacking the job like a seasoned CEO, not like a politician. He knows that his entire four-year term will be judged by what happens before it even starts. What he does today will determine how much support and political capital he has for his entire term.

Quick little story: the Youngest needed money.  Since my name hasn’t been on his bank account for years (like when he was deployed), I just couldn’t simply transfer money from my account to his.  I really didn’t want to drive all the way to him and he’s not on PayPal.  What was left?

I wish to provide an initial report to the citizens of Gilford & Meredith (Belknap County House District 2) whom I represent in the N.H. House of Representatives.

Although I will not be formally sworn until December 7, Pearl Harbor Day, I have endeavored to try to fulfill several of the issues on which I ran. Thus, I have submitted seven proposed bills to the Office of Legislative Services for the preparation of formal bills to be introduced in the 2017 Session beginning in January covering the following topics:

1. Repeal of the statute that allows persons attending college in N.H. to register and vote here, regardless of whether this is their permanent home.
2. Complete repeal of the tax on interest and dividends.
3. Revising the Business Enterprise Tax to eliminate any liability for the tax in any year in which the business organization does not have profits subject to the Business Profits Tax.

Throughout much of the past two years, he was a vocal critic of Jasper’s leadership and the partnership he forged with Democrats to obtain the position over the majority will of the Republican caucus.

Who, according to the Constitution, should have the power here?  What we’ve been seeing is a complete inversion of how the process is supposed to work.

Mitchell countered: “But when he tweets something about ISIS claiming responsibility for what happened in Ohio State, when that’s not at all confirmed, doesn’t that raise questions about the judgment – he is the president-elect.”  Cohen pushed back: “It raises questions, but also raises questions about the media. Why are you chasing it? Why, when a story comes out with a tweet which intuitively you know is not of significance, and yet, you spend an entire day analyzing it?”
