[Jeanette] Vizguerra pleaded guilty to using a fake ID in order to work in 2009. ICE officials say they’ve already granted her six stays of removal, and declined to issue another. That’s when Vizguerra sought refuge in the church rather than face deportation to Mexico.

“It is our position as a people of faith that this is sacred, and faithful work,” said the Rev. Mike Morran during the news conference at his church. “We know Jeanette. We know her to be an honorable human being.”

Frankly, it didn’t affect me at all.  In fact, if I hadn’t read about it, I wouldn’t have known about it.

Today was supposed to be the “Day of No Immigrants” – the usual assortment of illegal immigrant marches and rallies, businesses closing in “solidarity”.  Yep, once again, Progressives and the Left just snotting all over the Law (reformatted, emphasis mine):

The Arizona State Board of Cosmetology is investigating Juan Carlos Montesdeoca after receiving complaints that he was cutting hair without a license, Tucson News Now reported Monday. According to the complaint, which Montesdeoca shared with the TV station, the board received an anonymous complaint alleging that Montesdeoca was “requesting local businesses and local stylists to help out with free haircuts (unlicensed individuals) to the homeless.”

Montesdeoca gave the free haircuts on January 28 at the library in downtown Tucson. He organized the event through a Facebook group and solicited help from volunteers. He did it “out of the kindness of my heart,” and in memory of his mother, who loved her hair, he told Tucson News Now.

But he forgot to get permission from the state—or, rather, from the cosmetologists who apparently view his act of charity as a form of unwanted competition.

The exception, Tony Blair, was a Labour politician only in the most technical sense. Leftists saw him as a disguised conservative, a cuckoo in the nest. Let’s widen the camera shot a little. All over Europe, traditional parties of the Center-Left have been losing badly. As I write, opinion polls show the French Socialists in fourth place, the Dutch Labour Party in seventh. Greece’s PASOK, the leading party since the early 1980s, is now polling at 7 percent. Spain’s PSOE, which had a comfortable majority as recently as 10 years ago, has been displaced by the more radical Podemos. Social Democrats in former communist countries, such as Poland and Hungary, have, if anything, fared even worse. . . .

It is in this context, perhaps, that we should consider American politics.

A Peruvian woman originally hoping to become a naturalized citizen in Illinois now faces deportation after her record of illegal voter registration and casting ballots for federal candidates has come to light. Margarita Del Pilar Fitzpatrick, a Peruvian woman married to an American citizen in Illinois, became registered to vote at a driver’s license issuing office in 2005, according to court records. She presented a valid green card and passport from her home country to satisfy the identification requirements to obtain a license. Because of guidelines under the National Voter Registration Act (a.k.a. Motor Voter), the DMV employee reflexively offered Fitzpatrick the opportunity to register to vote, despite her documented alien status.

Normally I do like the Daily Mail, a UK newspaper, as it reports on a lot of items that the US MSM won’t – and if the MSM does, the Daily Mail generally has more facts and less political correctness than its American brethren.  This time, not so much.

The not-for-profit American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has seen membership and donations soar since the White House’s executive order on migration blocking travel for citizens of seven mainly Muslim countries.  As the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) closes in on migrants, the group is launching a special unit to make sure those facing deportation are given access to counsel immediately.

More than 160 foreign nationals were detained in Los Angeles alone last week, according to ABC, but ICE Field Office Director David Marin said they were nothing our of the ordinary.

The quick answer is that it hasn’t – when Target decided that it was going to make their bathroom basically unisex (“ollie, ollie, come on in home free”), it started a backlash from conservatives and traditionalists that didn’t want women to be forced to share the women’s bathrooms with men (especially the perverts proclaiming to be transgender to gain entry to that bathroom – but aren’t; we’ve written about this before and the pervs that have been caught).  But Target plowed on to cater to a small sliver of society – they made the decision that they could do without a large percentage of their customer because SOCIAL JUSTICE. They just didn’t plan on that same customer base deciding that they could do without Target, whose financials have suffered for their SJW ways. I know I used to go in fairly often – not anymore.

Then there’s the NFL whose TV ratings have sucked (relatively speaking for them). They’ve alienated a lot of their fan base by letting the Colin Kaepernick nonsense continue (as well as the “military pay for play” stupidity), and now they want to do the same thing as Target?
