Rick Olson is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a BA in Social Science. Rick subsequently attended Massachusetts School of Law in Andover MA. He is Past President of the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation, President of the Londonderry Fish & Game Club Rick is a nationally certified firearms instructor and a Hunter Education Instructor. He can frequently be found teaching Urban Rifle and Defensive Pistol classes as an Instructor with Defensive Strategies in Goffstown, NH. Rick resides in Manchester with his wife Lisa. Next week, Scott Brown will make an appearance before Gun Owners of New Hampshire. Meanwhile, he has been trucking around the Granite state visiting Gun stores and glad-handing patrons. Clearly, his campaign gets that he cannot win in New Hampshire without the gun voters.

“Human” formerly known as David Montenegro
Cops Lie. That is the opinion that Robert Montenegro desired to express through obtaining a vanity plate through the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles. Montenegro, who has legally changed his name to “Human” sought to obtain the plate in 2010. He was denied by the NH DMV who, according to the Union Leader, characterized the plate as, “insulting.”
Mr. Human immediately appealed to the Director of Motor Vehicles on May 5 and was denied an appeal informing him that, “a reasonable person would find COPSLIE offensive to good taste,” citing administrative rule, Saf-C 514.61(c)(3) says a vanity plate shall not be “ethnically, racially or which a reasonable person would find offensive to good taste.”
Mr. Human sought other vanity plate choices and the DMV did issue him, New Hampshire Vanity Plate, GR8GOVT. Thereafter, Mr. Human sought an injunction through Strafford County Superior Court seeking issuance of the COPSLIE plate and enjoining the DMV from recalling it. Judge Lewis (we could have guessed it) denied the injunction, upholding the states denial of the plate.
Finally four years later Mr. Human took this appeal to the Supreme Court and it was heard. The Supreme Court summarily found the restriction unconstitutional finding, “the state regulation is unconstitutionally vague because it is “so loosely constrained” that it “authorizes or even encourages arbitrary and discriminatory enforcement.”

Michael “Nanny” Bloomberg and PR Hack Shannon Watts
I’ve never heard the word, but I like it. and it aptly fits Bloomberg’s anti-gun maven, Shannon Watts. Aside from somebody who obviously didn’t get enough attention when she was a kid, Watts is a phony…a charlatan…a poser. According to their own website, Moms Demand Action formed within a day of the Newtown Massacre with Shannon Watts as its founder.
Watts description is that of a 42-year-old mother of five children who is a, “stay-at-home” mom in the idyllic Indianapolis Suburb of Zionsville. And, Prior to her current noble mission Watts enjoyed a 15-year career as a communications exec in public relations and for some Fortune 500’s.

Last week, Emperor Michael Bloomberg launched his, Everytown For Gun Safety campaign. For the launch Bloomberg made the talk show circuit explaining that this effort was not about gun confiscation, but keeping guns out of the hands of children, criminals and the mentally ill. Bloomberg’s statement was largely viewed as dishonest and disingenuous. The second amendment advocacy community just wasn’t buying it.

And finally, our own Granite State’s WMUR is reporting on this story with a flair of excited gibberish, clearly demonstrating their editorial bias when they report, “Guns Everywhere” was signed into law in Georgia. “Guns everywhere” is a pejorative characterization coined by the anti-second Amendment contingent opposing this measure.

A few days ago, Bloomberg retooled his anti-gun efforts, huffing and puffing how he is going to take on the National Rifle Association. Bringing his disgraced, No More Names Tour, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, and Moms Demand Action under one umbrella, with a cash influx of $50 million dollars. Nice.

I saw the first Scott Brown for Senate campaign ad this morning on the local, “puppies and kitties,” affiliate, Channel 9. Last week, Scott Brown visited Joe Kelly LeVasseur’s Theo’s Restaurant and, “worked the crowd,” Joe tells me. Slickster, is how I characterized it.

Senator David Watters
Senate Bill 244 began as a bill sponsored by Democratic Senator David Watters. The bill established all sorts of confusing and ambiguous provisions to submit names of the “mentally ill” to the exclusionary provisions of NICS. Additionally, the bill was purported to deal due process provisions for the removal of ones’ name from the NICS exclusion list. Actually, As of this day, there are few who can truly articulate…succinctly…what the bill now accomplishes in the wake of the numerous amendments….so numerous folks have lost count. Summarily, I cannot tell readers factually what the gist of the bill is because as I write this, amendments still abound.
Bill Barry took to the pages of the Union Leader today to advocate for SB244. In the UL, Barry writes,

The Gun debate. “Sensible Gun Policy.” “The public health crisis of gun violence.” “Assault Weapons” “Clips” “Magazines” “Bi-partisan.” The buzz words and phrases are awash…ignorance abounds.
This is easy for me. My mind is made up. I’ve picked a side. there is nothing bipartisan about me. For I live and breathe the second amendment. Most know that about me anyway. I neither make excuses for it, nor do I apologize for it. I am not interested in what the other side has to say. I’ve listened long enough to know in thirty years it has not changed.
