Want to know the REAL history of segregationists and racists in the modern era? Here’s the history of the Democrat Party

Democrat Party Logo 2015And yet, they want US to feel like we are the ones at fault?  That the execrabke Dylann Roofs is the manifestation and creation of the Right?  Wrong!

Always the Party that, like their Communist brethren, loves to change, distort, obfuscate, and lie about history – THEIR execrable history.  Jeffry Lord over at the American Spectator has a LOONG post on their history with glaring spotlights on the real racist history of the Democrats – a snippet:

…From the rabidly segregationist President Woodrow Wilson (who showcased the pro-Klan Birth of a Nation film in the White House and also made certain his segregationist and progressive Secretary of the Navy Josephus Daniels segregated the Navy) to other prominent Democrats, your party has been the home of those who use race to win elections and make public policy. Senators with names like South Carolina’s James F. Byrnes (also an FDR Court appointee and Truman’s Secretary of State) or Georgia’s powerful Richard Russell — who created the federal school lunch program and whose name, thanks to the Democratic Senate Majority in 1972 graces the Senate’s Russell Senate Office Building — were typical of the honored roles bestowed on the rawest of racists by your party. Russell played the anti-black race card and used it to create a lunch program for kids. How nice.

Trigger Warnings – this SHOULD have been the GrokTALK! WTF moment of the week but…

…the Supreme Court’s decisions pushed this down the list by far (like 1,2, 3…..and the next 25 slots were empty).  Yes, it is Precious Snowflake time again – those feminists that can’t bear the reality of reality and had to be told “Hey, somebody’s gonna say BOO!” and destroy your soul.  Serious, the issuance of “trigger warning” is now a trigger?  These females should not be allowed out in public, they are so weak-kneed (emphasis mine):

Well, it’s all come full-circle. According to the Feminist Internet, the phrase “trigger warning” is now in itself also a trigger.

The blog Everyday Feminism recently re-published an article explaining the idea of “trigger warnings” to those of us who are not as culturally literate and sensitive as they are, and began it with the following disclaimer:

Like this phenomenal article, Everyday Feminism definitely believes in giving people a heads up about material that might provoke our reader’s trauma. However, we use the phrase “content warning” instead of “trigger warning,” as the word “trigger” relies on and evokes violent weaponry imagery. This could be re-traumatizing for folks who have suffered military, police, and other forms of violence. So, while warnings are so necessary and the points in this article are right on, we strongly encourage the term “content warning” instead of “trigger warning.”

This is just plain absurd – and yet

One cannot “force” acceptance & respect merely by passing a law demanding it

“People feel like they’re under siege and that the terms of the debate are now you either applaud it or you’re a bigot.”

– Former US Education Secretary Bill Bennet (author, talk show host)

********

Headline at NH1 (emphasis mine):

Lobby says NH needs law to impose acceptance of transgenders

Once again, Progressives through identity politics and turning our former American melting point into a group of popsicles, believe they can change hearts and minds simply by passing a law and using the threat of fines or jails to “MAKE” people like others.

Impose.

Think of what that really means.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on this week’s Supreme Court decisions

This week, we have twice seen Supreme Court justices violating their judicial oaths. Yesterday, the justices rewrote Obamacare, yet again, in order to force this failed law on the American people. Today, the Court doubled down with a 5–4 opinion that undermines not just the definition of marriage, but the very foundations of our representative form of government. Both decisions were judicial activism, plain and simple. Both were lawless.

As Justice Scalia put it regarding Obamacare, “Words no longer have meaning if an Exchange that is not established by a State is ‘established by the State.’ . . . We should start calling this law SCOTUSCare.” And as he observed regarding marriage, “Today’s decree says that . . . the Ruler of 320 million Americans coast-to-coast is a majority of the nine lawyers on the Supreme Court.”

Sadly, the political reaction from the leaders of my party is all too predictable. They will pretend to be incensed, and then plan to do absolutely nothing.

That is unacceptable.

If they wish to push themselves into the Culture War so deep….

WeddingRings-GayI heard this information on the radio while doing errands with TMEW but the Washington Examiner also has the news:

The owners of Ben & Jerry’s have a sweet new deal for proponents of gay marriage.

In celebration of today’s 5-4 Supreme Court ruling that states must allow and recognize gay marriage, the popular ice cream company announced on it’s website Friday that it is renaming its Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream flavor to “I Dough, I Dough” for the summer.

It will be available at participating Ben & Jerry’s locations nationwide, and also online via the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual civil rights organization.

All sales proceeds will go to benefit that organization.

My response to the radio info?

I guess the Supremes blew up any restrictions on marriage….

From The Blaze:

I’m tired of living in the shadows. It’s time to come out of the pantry closet.

Now that the Supreme Court has ruled that everyone has a constitutional right to marry anyone (or anything), I have come to a huge decision. I have decided to marry bacon.

I’ve been struggling with this for a long time and never told anyone. As I think about it, I’ve had a preoccupation for pork since I was 12. I think God made me to spend the rest of my life with bacon. I’ve decided that I love bacon and you do not choose who you love. And since I am not a Jew, and Jesus never specifically mentioned or prohibited marrying bacon, I think I’m good.

Ted Olsen, lead counsel on the homosexual marriage case, refuses to answer the polygamy question

many wedding ringsWhen asked by Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday about the homosexual marriage decision made by the Supreme Court on whether or not this could lead to polygamy or polyamory, once again Ted Olsen slithers away from directly answering the question: “What about three people marrying or varieties of arrangements?

Yes, and I think with respect to the Chief Justice, I think the Chief Justice is wrong.  He bought into a red herring.  There are reasons why the States and the Federal Government might prohibit relationships, marriage relationships in multiple persons, the rights of children and what happens when the marriage breaks up but the test is, what does the State have in its interest to prohibit the conduct that’s being considered.  The States that were involved in the case that was decided Friday could not come up with any good reasons why to prohibit a person to marry the person of the same sex, the person that they loved.  Well, they came up with “well, its against traditional marriage”.  Well, that’s like saying separate schools were a tradition. Or restrictions on marriage between people of different backgrounds was a tradition.  You can’t explain something by saying its always the way we’ve done it.

Such a whiff. And with all due respect to Wallace, I was asking this question years ago when

There is ONE good thing about Hassan’s veto of the budget

Government ShutdownShe did what the Republicans in both the House and Senate refused to do:

Hassan vetoes budget; will sign 6-month spending plan

Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan officially vetoed the $11.3 billion state budget Thursday morning, setting the stage for several more months of partisan debate over the state’s next two-year spending plan.

…Hassan will soon sign a six-month temporary funding resolution that will keep government running at existing spending levels while lawmakers hammer out a new budget compromise. The current $10.7 billion state budget is set to expire June 30.

You get that?  Maggie Hassan will now only be allowed to spend at this year’s budget.  NO INCREASE.  Not a single dime more.  Not one thin penny.  And this Democrat did this to Government?  Heavens above!  She’s going to spend at the same rate.  And she did it to herself – willingly signing that fiscally limiting veto.  Yet, the Republican Party is supposed to be the Party of smaller government.  Well, even with a veto to spend the same (until she gets all that she wants), I still see a $600 million rise from this session to the next in the Republican budget – that is NOT smaller government.

But Skip, it is LESS than what Hassan wanted – can’t you give them a break?

Blogline of the Day – vice

At least, the first one:

It is now clear that for this Court, extremism in the pursuit of the Sexual Revolution’s goals is no vice.

Ugh, but seemingly true where “feelings” trump enumerated Powers.  Judicial decision or legislative action – hey, in this age, anything can be anything, eh?  Once again, I have to say that my generation, the Boomer generation, has been the worst one in the history of the US, especially in the area of morality (or better, the lack thereof).

Rod Dryer also adds this, which seems to be the outlook in the Right side of the blogosphere:

Blog Observation of the Day – have enough bricks been yanked out of Society’s Wall?

of the Constitution?I’ve said for years that Society could be analogized as a wall – standing tall and strong.  Still true if you pull out the random brick from here and there, it still holds.  Continue to do so and it starts weaving a bit like a skyscraper in a hurricane; continue to do so and targeting the “important” bricks, and we all know what will happen.  Liberty Unyielding believes we have hit the “too many yanked bricks” time (emphasis mine):

Legal minds will write more detailed briefs about the ins and outs of the decision in King v. Burwell.  But what’s more important at this turning point is a sense of history, and what it means for a people when its last governmental refuge for black-letter understanding self-detonates.

We know that the legislature and the executive already abandoned reason, process, and good faith in creating the Obamacare monster.  The Supreme Court has now very clearly done the same.

So, where is the NH GOP’s position on these momentus US Supreme Court decisions?

NHGOPElephantThe NH GOP generally has something to say about any reasonably important political happening.  I surely expected to have email missives from them from yesterday on the Obamacare decision.  After all, it is in the Statement of Principles:

Support the repeal of Obamacare and oppose its implementation in New Hampshire

Why isn’t NH GOP Chair Jennifer Horn shoving out any message concerning the decision yesterday?  Leading the fight, rallying the troops! After all, it is her responsibility in defending those Principles, right?  But not even a slight squawk?  Oh yeah,

Mr. Rubio, if our Government is not abiding by the Rule of Law

While most of the other GOP 2016 contenders have urged resistance to the Supreme Court’s Friday ruling on same-sex marriage, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said Americans “must abide by the law.”

In a statement on his website, Rubio said he believes in traditional marriage as central to a strong family life, but then added:

While I disagree with this decision, we live in a republic and must abide by the law. As we look ahead, it must be a priority of the next president to nominate judges and justices committed to applying the Constitution as written and originally understood.

Rubio is missing big time on the sentiment that is starting to grow on the Right – while the Left (abiding by the Rule of Alinsky) has adopted “the end justifies By Any Means Necessary”, and we see the signs and actions of this all over by Democrats not abiding by The Law, they are starting to ask themselves “Why should I – to my own detriment? Why should I not be able to defend my values, my traditions, against those that are actively moving to take them away”?

And as I have said before, faith in the Republican Party to

Hillary – lots of “Freedom from want and Freedom from fear” – an Alynsky / socialist’s wet dream

Remember this political video of Hillary passing out presents?  From 2008 when she lost to King Obama; sitting there all pretty like and an attitude of “look at ALL the pretty things I will give you when you give me your votes”:

It’s as if she knew then how rich she and Bill were going to get from his speaking fees from all those countries she visited as Secretary of State!  Man, that’s generous – and she seemed VERY happy to deign to be giving us all those things….oh wait!

The Rule of Law continues to be of no concern to the IRS

“The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.” – President Barack Obama, Inauguration, 1/20/09

IRSThis has gone past “not working” but outright rebellion of a federal agency against those constitutionally bound to oversee them.  In other words, the IRS is using Congress as its snot rag in being as obstructionist as possible in defending itself in the TEA Party targeting case.  Rule of Law?  Nope; this shows that the IRS continues to believe that it is above the Law (even as it would use such to crush you if its attention turned your way; emphasis mine):

IRS Deleted Hundreds of Back-up Tapes Containing Thousands of Lerner Emails After Congressional Subpoena Was Issued

This used to be called obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence.

According to new information from the House Oversight Committee, Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration [TIGTA] Russell George and Deputy Inspector General for Investigations Tim Camus, the IRS deleted hundreds of backup tapes containing thousands of emails belonging to former IRS official Lois Lerner, the woman at the center of the conservative targeting scandal. The tapes were destroyed nine months after a congressional subpoena was issued to the agency demanding they be preserved and turned over.

The Professor sums up today’s King vs Burwell SCOTUScare decision pithily

A somewhat more extended summary is that Congress may explicitly lie to the public even in the very words it uses in its statutes, and robed legislators will excuse and reinforce these lies.

– Prof. Don Boudreaux

Yes, one more big step towards complete Statism – the Progressives’ wet dream of Utopia by which our Elites tell us exactly how to live our lives.  You know, the Marxist version of Sharia Law. Because HEALTHCARE (and nothing is better than commanding you how to act so you can live longer under our ministrations for your own good).
