Political Kabuki theater – Democrat style

Shot – Latin American election observers cheered by FEC Dem Election observers from Latin America in the U.S. to monitor Tuesday’s presidential election are getting the royal treatment from Washington officials, including a top Democrat on the Federal Election Commission.  Members of Voto Transparente tweeted a picture of over two dozen members sitting next to FEC … Read more

“Common Sense” gun control is neither real control or common sensical

“To the glib critics of America’s gun culture, we should make this demand: If supply controls are the answer, describe precisely the full program of supply side policies that you propose to stop gun crimes we all abhor. And then tell us how those policies will also allow lawful gun owners to keep and protect … Read more

Hillary’s lies

HS Hillary it takes a socialistI pity the person that got the short straw that was assigned to do this list:

I am the only candidate who ran in either the Democratic or Republican primary who said from the very beginning (that) I will not raise taxes on the middle class.”

“Back in the Great Recession, when millions of jobs across America hung in the balance, Donald Trump said rescuing the auto industry didn’t really matter very much.”

“[FBI Director] Comey said my answers were truthful, and what I’ve said is consistent with what I have told the American people.”

Blogline of the Day – I remember TV showing Soviet grocery stores

Pretty much barren, few choices, high prices, and lots of time waiting in line.  Oh wait! Like shoppers in Soviet supermarkets, American health care buyers now face a very limited selection of terrible products at extortionate prices. (H/T: Opportunity Lives)

Southwestern Community Services’ John Manning probably isn’t gonna get his money from Claremont

community-busObamacare -Year of the SnakeAnd may lose more.  Remember, he decided that he’d replace one failed social services transportation organization and THEN start asking for money (“aggressively”).  Well, you can “aggress” all you want, but I think that Claremont (and a whole lotta other towns and cities) ain’t gonna bend over and fork it over (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Hiring freeze, budget cuts proposed to combat health insurance spike

CLAREMONT — City Manager Guy Santagate is proposing an immediate freeze on hiring of non-public safety employees and budget cuts to make up for an anticipated 23 percent rise in health insurance costs.  Santagate said the city budget is expected to come up short by $129,000 when the 23.1-percent increase goes into effect in January.

Deal reached after GOP claims absentee ballots were handled wrongly in Florida county

A clash between the state Republican party and Broward County’s elections office over the handling of absentee ballots was settled Wednesday night only hours after it began.  At issue: whether Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda C. Snipes had broken the law by opening scores of mail-in ballots in private, and without the supervision of a canvassing board appointed to oversee and certify elections.

Snipes — whose office has dealt with a series of mishaps and complications this election cycle — received a letter Wednesday afternoon from Republican state party chairman Blaise Ingoglia alleging the elections department had illegally processed and opened scores of the more than 153,000 ballots that have been cast by mail so far in Broward.

BTW, Broward County is heavily Democrat.

Remember this on Tuesday: how the Democrats’ Obamacare affects you

A-cartoon-obamacare-this-is-going-to-hurtMuch has been written (including here on the ‘Grok) about Obamacare.  Now that our “we are the right ones to implement Socialism” are seeing the absolute nightmare that this Democrat nationalization of our healthcare system has now turned into a tsunami of badness, they are:

1)Saying that those whose Obamacare premiums have skyrocketed (up to $1300 /month with $13,000/year for deductions) are “only a few that aren’t covered by taxpayer subsidies”.  In other words, we’re seeing the Socialist version of “immaterial collateral damage” (e.g., “well, ya gotta break a few eggs to get a great omlette” – but what if you are that egg?)

2)It doesn’t affect those with subsidies as the Government will just raise the amount of the subsidies.  In other words, Democrats are just fine say ‘screw the rest of you that are paying for our “protected ones”‘).

Good post from ‘Grok friend Betsy McCaughey over at the New York Post that talks about how it affects the rest of us that aren’t directly on Obamacare – “we others”:

Insured through work? The law forces employers to provide a one-size-fits-all benefits package costing much more than pre-ObamaCare coverage. The law also imposes a slew of new taxes. No surprise, employers are offsetting these costs by raising deductibles and reducing family coverage. In 2017, many companies will eliminate insurance for spouses.

Addition to Steve’s “Vote Shaming The Morons at the NHGOP”

Quick add: my son also received one of those absolutely bossy, elitist smacks-of-Nannyism, smacking-of-desperatism, hounding MOCKING “voting scorecards”. Obama Administration – No praying because we gave you free food

Bethesda Mission gives away around 200,000 and feeds about 3,000 hot meals a day to their clients.   They don’t proselytize; they don’t make it mandatory that their clients attend religious functions in order to receive that food or eat those meals.  But, being a Christian mission, they pray (“say Grace”) and give thanks to … Read more

These black pastors are really going to peel Hillary from supporting issues against their faith?

Christian CrossNew World OrderHahahaha! Emphasis mine, reformatted:

“On the 499th anniversary of Martin Luther’s 95 Theses, a group of black minsters is nailing a missive to the door of the Democratic Party demanding a political reformation on the issues black people care about.

Delivered to Hillary Clinton’s campaign headquarters on Monday, the blistering letter is signed by more than 25 interdenominational black bishops and pastors, and finds fault with the Democratic presidential nominee’s lackluster commitment to religious liberty, wholesale adoption of the LGBT movement’s agenda and uncompromising support for abortion rights.

The pastors, who say they are comprised only of Democrats and independents, are requesting a meeting with Mrs. Clinton within the first 100 days of her prospective presidency to discuss how the Democratic Party can do a better job of serving one of its most loyal constituencies. They implore Mrs. Clinton to accord them “the same respect that would be conferred on wealthy white donors” by meeting with prominent leaders of the black faith community.

What, one of the most loyal constituents of the Democrats is….

Notable Quote – Seton Motley

But we have spent the last half-century-plus training Americans not to appreciate accomplishment and pursue it themselves – but to envy others’ success, and want society to punish them for having the audacity to excel. And that’s where government comes in. Populated in far, far too many instances by people steeped not in the pursuit of … Read more

OK, is this from the Democrat or the Socialist candidate for President?

Remember, we have seen that a goodly number of high Democrats (elected, officials) that could not tell the difference between them and the Socialist / Communist Party.  Here are the talking points:

  5. End racism. Stop police brutality and mass incarceration
