Notable Quote – Prof. Thomas Sowell

Many individual fallacies in economics are founded on the larger, and usually implicit, fallacious assumption that economic transactions are a zero-sum process, in which what is gained by someone is lost by someone else. But voluntary economic transactions – whether between employer and employee, tenant and landlord, or international trade – would not continue to … Read more

Court OKs Federal Officials Taking Control Of Private Lands To Save Endangered Frogs That Don’t Live There. I can’t even begin figure out what to say except to say “I used to think that Government was supposed to protect our Right to private property?”. This is what Environmentalism has wrought. Drivers licenses – on ramp for illegal aliens and their illegal votes?

illegal-alien-i-vote-2Buh-buh-buh-but illegal aliens NEVER vote and never engage in voter fraud! Really?  How now, brown cow (reformatted, emphasis mine)?

Noncitizen Faces Deportation for Illegal Voting After Getting Driver’s License

A Peruvian woman originally hoping to become a naturalized citizen in Illinois now faces deportation after her record of illegal voter registration and casting ballots for federal candidates has come to light. Margarita Del Pilar Fitzpatrick, a Peruvian woman married to an American citizen in Illinois, became registered to vote at a driver’s license issuing office in 2005, according to court records. She presented a valid green card and passport from her home country to satisfy the identification requirements to obtain a license. Because of guidelines under the National Voter Registration Act (a.k.a. Motor Voter), the DMV employee reflexively offered Fitzpatrick the opportunity to register to vote, despite her documented alien status.

Ok, one “bad” story about voter fraud deserves another

voterfraudMethinks our Progressive commenters, Bruce and Herb, are going to have headaches before we’re done.  This is number four in a series and is about identity theft to register in another State (and not so coincidently, get the guy whose identity was stolen in hot water; reformatted, emphasis mine):

Consider this note from our friend Roger Beckett, executive director of the Ashbrook Center at Ashland University in Ohio:

I received the letter below from the Department of Elections in the State of Delaware. After a couple phone calls to them, I learned that someone registered me to vote (with my correct Date of Birth and Social Security number) on July 12, 2016 in Wilmington, Delaware. As a Democrat. I have never registered to vote in Delaware. I have only ever registered to vote where I live, in Ohio. I checked my credit report, and this is not full-fledged identity theft. It appears to be just some new-fangled election fraud.

General Mike Flynn – The Deep State (along with Obama burrowers): subversion?

Much is being said about Trump’s NSA head, Mike Flynn, and the recent past, the politics within the WH, and now, some of what might be going on.  A bit of it is from this; If I am channel surfing and pass by Fox News, I’ll click back if Dr. Sebastian Gorka is on – I like what he says and how it says it.  One also has to respect his background as well.  He had this to say (reformatted, emphasis mine for all the snippets, and with some other links, this post could go on for a bit and STILL not capture all of this issue but a basic taste, sure):

“I can’t comment on what was said, or what wasn’t said, on those telephone calls even though the good general himself says that he can’t remember all the details,” Gorka said. “All I can tell you is my personal experience. I spent several months working very closely with General Flynn and the transition team, in his National Security Council transition team. He’s a man you would trust with your life. He’s a great patriot, man of honor, worn the cloth of the Republic.

“The bottom line is, he shook things up in the DIA, and there are a lot of people who want to take revenge on him. Names I’m not going to list across the airwaves right now, but people who do a little bit of research can work out. The Establishment doesn’t like General Flynn, and for me, that’s a good thing,” he told SiriusXM host Alex Marlow.

Marlow proposed that Flynn was but the latest target of the Left’s “pick a target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it” strategy, as defined by Saul Alinsky in Rules for Radicals.

And he comes out with a list of who the Left, the Obama sycophants and embeds, and the denizens of the Deep State that believe THEY are the Government no matter who is in elected office – and there’s a catch:

Bias in journalism much?

Normally I do like the Daily Mail, a UK newspaper, as it reports on a lot of items that the US MSM won’t – and if the MSM does, the Daily Mail generally has more facts and less political correctness than its American brethren.  This time, not so much.

SHOT:

The not-for-profit American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has seen membership and donations soar since the White House’s executive order on migration blocking travel for citizens of seven mainly Muslim countries.  As the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) closes in on migrants, the group is launching a special unit to make sure those facing deportation are given access to counsel immediately.

More than 160 foreign nationals were detained in Los Angeles alone last week, according to ABC, but ICE Field Office Director David Marin said they were nothing our of the ordinary.

Zandra Rice-Hawkins: Master purveyor of FUD towards the Second Amendment

Zandra Rice-Hawkins ('Grok exclusive photo)
Zandra Rice-Hawkins (‘Grok exclusive photo)

FUD – Fear, uncertainty, and doubt.  Coming from Zandra Rice-Hawkins (our favorite cereal, Rice-Crispies) of Granite State Progress (a totally out of state funded entity), I tend to more call it lying.  She hates guns because this Statist loves Government – and it is clear from her history, as we all have said before, she believes that only Government should have such Force and it should be a monopoly.

Just like the Redcoats at the time of our Revolutionary War – it was their attempt to disarm the general populace that very well that was the spark that created The Shot Heard ‘Round The World.  I’m quite sure she’d have been a Royalist – she certains seems to be against Individual Liberty (except when it can advance the Progressive social and political  agenda.

So what was it that she said (again, reformatted and emphasis mine)?  Here’s the windup:

A reminder about how the Minimum Wage came about – and its not pretty

“As I’ve said on other occasions: compared to (most of) today’s advocates of the minimum wage, the minimum-wage’s early advocates had far worse ethics but a far better grasp of economics. These early advocates of the minimum wage correctly understood not only that the minimum wage destroys jobs for some low-skilled workers, but also that … Read more

Now the Right is out-Alinskying the Left? Serves them Right!

Alinksy - to create a Socialist State
Given how Alinsky’s Rules were used against Conservatives, Traditionalists, and Libertarians at the beginning of the Obama Administration, and how long it took us to figure out what it was that was being used against us, this piece by Kurt Schlicter (who is becoming a good read) is amusing:

The Left is getting massively out-Alinskyed, and the hilarious thing is that this band of withered hippies, unemployable millennial safe-space cases, and unlovable + unshaven libfeminists don’t even know it. Oh, their masters sure know it. Soros is bitterly having to ramp up his infusions of blood money to keep his community-organized “grassroots” movements afloat. The less dumb ones among the lying dinosaur media are panicking as their influence fades, and Chuck Schumer is enduring such a non-stop parade of serial humiliations that if the Senate were a penitentiary, he’d be McConnell’s prison Mitch.

This is both good news and AWFUL news

  • The Good News:  A number of Sanctuary Cities are starting to see the error of their ways and have decided to return to The Rule of Law
  • The AWFUL News:  Money is more powerful than their Principles.

Heh!  This is good news in that these towns, cities and counties are no longer decide that all laws apply to everyone, including themselves.  They should NEVER have decided otherwise.  But like recalcitrant children, they are learning that decisions have consequences.  But are they doing it because it is “the right thing to do”? Of course not.  Sure, they’re folding like paper cut-outs of Obama in the rain, but not for the right reason. Instead of following The Rule of Law (one of the foundational tenets of American Exceptionalism that all men are created equal before the law) however, its all about the Benjamins (reformatted, emphasis mine):

‘We’re going to see more’: Sanctuary cities cave in face of Trump’s funding threats

Gee, NFL, how’d this work out for Target, eh?

wilson_nfl_duke_official_size_leather_game_ballThe quick answer is that it hasn’t – when Target decided that it was going to make their bathroom basically unisex (“ollie, ollie, come on in home free”), it started a backlash from conservatives and traditionalists that didn’t want women to be forced to share the women’s bathrooms with men (especially the perverts proclaiming to be transgender to gain entry to that bathroom – but aren’t; we’ve written about this before and the pervs that have been caught).  But Target plowed on to cater to a small sliver of society – they made the decision that they could do without a large percentage of their customer because SOCIAL JUSTICE. They just didn’t plan on that same customer base deciding that they could do without Target, whose financials have suffered for their SJW ways. I know I used to go in fairly often – not anymore.

Then there’s the NFL whose TV ratings have sucked (relatively speaking for them). They’ve alienated a lot of their fan base by letting the Colin Kaepernick nonsense continue (as well as the “military pay for play” stupidity), and now they want to do the same thing as Target?

Thanks Ninth Circuit – a lawsuit from the future by the head of the Islamic State

Heh!  But given how the Ninth Circuit ruled by ignoring a lot of important legal bits, this parody from The Corner could be plausable (emphasis mine, reformatted) based on it seems that the Ninth believes that Constitutional Rights belong to ANY global “citizen” even if said citizen is openly advocating and fighting for the overthrow of the United States based solely on religious reasons:

…Thanks to my time machine, I was able to secure a copy of the following opinion, dated October 18, 2019. It’s from a panel of Ninth Circuit judges, per curiam:

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and the State of California, et al., v. Donald J. Trump, President of the United States

Mexican officials clamoring for illegal aliens to Cloward-Piven our immigration system

illegal alien signFor all the talk about defunding Sanctuary cities (and soon, States), methinks Trump ought to cast a hairy eyeball at Mexico (emphasis mine, reformatted):

According to The Wall Street Journal, a group called Monarca — named after the Monarch butterflies that migrate across North America — is pushing several measures that aim to help Mexican migrants living in the U.S., one of which involves an ad campaign urging those targeted for deportation to take their cases to court.

“The backlog in the immigration system is tremendous,” former Foreign Minister Jorge Castaneda, a member of the group, told The Journal. He wants to double or triple that backlog, “until [U.S. President Donald] Trump desists in this stupid idea.”

Notable Quote – Matthew Continetti

Nobody Knows Anything (emphasis mine):

The other night Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell rebuked her for impugning colleague Jeff Sessions. Exercising a little-known rule, the Senate revoked Warren’s floor privileges for 24 hours. Now, says the Times, “Ms. Warren is considered a very early frontrunner for 2020, should she run.”

I’m sorry. I just can’t. We are three weeks into the presidency of Donald J. Trump, the most unusual and unconventional man to inhabit the White House in a century, possibly ever, and the New York Times is already naming the frontrunner to replace him? The same media and consultant class that assumed Hillary Clinton would win the presidency in 2008 and again in 2016 presumes to declare how a Senate kerfuffle in February 2017 will affect Iowa caucus-goers in 2020? Who are these people? Where did they come from? What makes them so obtuse, so beholden to gossip, so given to wish-casting, so certain that their momentary impressions of trivial matters carry cosmic weight? Was it college that inflated their sense of self-worth? Is that what $50k a year buys you—a degree in smug? We may never know.

This proves two things about Socialism and Environmentalism

Pink FlamingosVenezuela is a basket case from every view you can take – except if you are a Socialist.  Those folks don’t even want to look in that direction and do you EVER hear them talking about how GREAT Venezuela is?  This headline and article doesn’t help and it should give both Socialists and Environmentalists (but I repeat myself) a big cause for reflection and introspection (yeah, I know, I know):

Venezuelans eating cats, dogs, donkeys, horses and even pink flamingos to survive

Biology student Luis Sibira stumbled across the first set of gory remains last November: eight pink flamingos, their breasts and torsos sliced out, leaving their heads, spindly legs and vivid feathers scattered across the marshy ground at Las Peonias Lagoon in western Venezuela…

But this isn’t simple poaching, he said. Sibira and other investigators from Zulia University, a public university in Maracaibo, are convinced that the protected birds have become the latest victims of Venezuela’s growing hunger crisis. People have become so desperate, he said, that they are butchering and eating flamingos.
