If you did not know, charges were dropped against all the remaining defendants of the NH9 – the individuals targeted and arrested at an October 2021 Executive Council Meeting. And here’s something else you might not know. Things have gotten more interesting since then.
The State of New Hampshire never had a case, but they clung (bitterly?) to the media opportunities created by a false insurrection narrative right here in the Granite State. By “they,” I mean the Republican Governor, his AG, and the Department of Injustice.
Earlier this week, the charges against Terese Grinnell were dropped. She’d been arrested for allegedly disrupting a public meeting. Yesterday the State dropped the charges on the six remaining defendants.
[A] Trial Management Hearing is on 4/15/2021 at 12:30 pm which will determine if the State of NH plans to dismiss the disorderly conduct charges or schedule 9 trial dates at a cost to the NH taxpayers.
Before leaving for court Thursday morning, I submitted a mockery of Attorney Celia Leonard and provided a link to a Simon and Garfunkel song that mentions her name. This time, the song I will share is a few years older. In fact, it’s older than me, and it’s called The Cheater.
Today I visited the Supreme Court to witness Daniel Richard’s oral arguments, which I’m sure will be reported on in great detail in other articles, but I’m going to share a different observation.
We have another incident that rings of NH Gov. Chris Sununu’s Amen moment, where nine individuals in a crowd were arrested for disrupting a public meeting. There was no disruption, and charges had to be dropped. Compare that to the arrests of three residents of Moscow, Idaho.
One of the most serious problems confronting us is New Hampshire’s meaningless notions of residency (domicile or presence). Non-residents are permitted (even encouraged) to vote here.
