Facebook Doodlings – Obama’s mini-speech

by

A couple of observations from Facebook as President Obama spoke to the nation at 9pm this evening (and once again, gave the networks agina):

  • Obama’s Presser: " I think these Patriotic American willing to pitch in. In fact over the last few decades, they’ve pitched in every time we’ve passed a bipartisan deal to reduce the deficit."

Well of COURSE they pitched in – they didn’t have choice. If they didn’t, they’d be arrested. That’s not "asking to contribute" – that’s a DEMAND!

Class Warfare – all the time every time!

Always the Progressive, always the agitating Community Organizer looking for people and companies to demonize.

  • "For the first time in history, our AAA credit rating would be downgraded, leaving investors around the world wondering if the United States is still a good bet."

Not with you as President deficit spending $1.5 Trillion every year, sport!

Just think of this – if President Obama and the Democrats had NOT just spent $4.6 Trillion in the last 3 years, would our credit rating be at risk?  Right now, with the dollar tanking and companies NOT investing here, they have already answered his question: NO, the US is not a good bet.  Why would they?  You are refusing to put law after law after regulation after regulation on the backs of the American taxpayer and consumer.  They are voting with both their feet (going overseas) and with the dollars (those going overseas as well or staying in the bank).

  • "A six month extension in the debut ceiling may not be enough to avoid a credit downgrade and the higher interest all Americans would have to pay"

But it would keep you on the hook for the next election – and that would be priceless!

There is only one reason why he keeps himself and his minion on message on this point – he CANNOT allow the debt ceiling to be part of the campaign.  If it does, he gets cashiered with a "no sale".

  • "and this is no way to run a country"

Step down then. After all, your last budget proposal was punted in the Senate 97 – 0. *I* couldn’t do any worse!

He said it…I’m just agreeing with him and simply pointing out that it is hard to do worse when literally NO ONE would vote for his idea of a budget.

  • Trust but Verify – Boehner, we’re watching…and talking to the TEA Party Congressmen as well. DON’T screw this up! But you’ve got it right – Entitlements HAVE to be part of this. You legislators created these financial monsters via law, use laws to tame them.

Trust me – I’ve not only got a glinty eye for Obama but am watching the Republicans as well.  There have been 17 (?) debt commissions in the past – none of them have been worth a bucket of snot for all the good they’ve done.

Obama and the Democrats keep calling the Republican the "Party of No"; would you PLEASE at least live up to that and make SOME of us happy?

  • We elected new people in Congress for one reason & ONLY one reason – stop your plans! We are fed up with Republicans compromising with YOU! If not for the TEA Party, many of the Squishes would have gone with you. We voted to stop you – your piling up MASSIVE debt will not just be a dysfunctional DC, but a dysfunctional country. Only the TEA Party stands between you & the financial chasm you are dragging us into.

Obama kept yapping about compromise and that this nation was built on compromise.  WRONG!  This country was built on the ideas:

  • The government governs only with the consent of a free and sovereign people.
  • The States consented to the creation of the Federal Government, not the other way around.
  • A limited government was proposed to protect our individual liberties.

Compromise is not a foundational truth; it is only a technique in the tool box and not an actual "goal" of government.  Besides, every time Republicans seem to compromise, it is the Conservative philosophy that gets compromised.

  • Gee, Obama didn’t take any questions this time….durn….
