Gov. Matt Bevin – Gun Control and the Value of Life

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin had some great thoughts on gun violence and culture a few months back. Skip wrote about this back in February.

For many of us social conservatives, he confirms what we’ve known for decades – that Progressives have deliberately destroyed the social norms that once existed that kept people “in check” just as surely as Law does (to the extent that it does).  They only understand the barriers to behavior – are those they impose on others by Law; if a Law does not exist by which Government limits behavior, then behavior does not have to be limited.

The governor remarks on a time when kids had guns at school. Brought them to school on the bus. No one was shooting anyone else. The guns didn’t change.

The culture and politics have changed families. Changing families has changed kids.

The problem isn’t guns.
