Are they more upset about the animals or the opportunity to remind Americans that Islam and dogs as pets are not compatible?

Welcome to your Monday, August 24th, 2026 morning update.
Back in February, I introduced you to Nerdeen Kiswani. Actually, she introduced herself to everybody. We just happened to do an episode of the morning update on it.
She’d said something kind of controversial about dogs, that they were unclean, that they didn’t have a place as pets in anybody’s home. Here’s the clip.
She later pretended she was joking when she realized how that balloon wasn’t going to float, but she was serious.
In Muslim families and Islamic culture, dogs can herd, maybe; dogs can guard, perhaps, but they aren’t allowed in the home. They aren’t allowed to lick your face. They are unclean. Allah does not like this, and therefore you will not have dogs in your homes. The average American would be like, What?
As I noted in the clip. Is this the thing that gets liberals to see Muslims in Islam as detrimental to Americans’ everyday life?
Not stabbings or beheadings or rape gangs.
Not their mistreatment of the LGBTQ community.
Not the totalitarian intolerance, the erasure of all other religions around them, the very theocratic nature of the entire institution.
And then there’s the morality police, and by the way, no abortions.
None of that turns them off. Most of your Islamic candidates, your Muslim candidates, are Democrats.
So then we get to “what do you mean I can’t keep a dog in my house?”
Republicans at least see this as an opportunity, especially in Michigan, where Abdul El-Sayed is the Democrat nominee for the U.S. Senate.

Islam equals no dogs.
The radical Islamist candidate had thousands of dogs euthanized, or executed, killed. Americans love their dogs. They love their dogs more than some people, which could now include Abdul El-Sayed.
Political rivals are also foaming at the mouth. The National Republican Senatorial Committee seized the opportunity to start selling dogs against Abdul merchandise.
Abdul and Islam, by the way, both have the same number of letters in it, so we could very easily see dogs against Islam gear appear pretty soon.
You know who isn’t against Islam or Abdul? PETA. No, not people eating tasty animals. The other ones. No fur, cut the pork. Wearing feathers is bloody cruel.
The group opposes hunting and fishing. And if you thought DEI culture was toxic, try PETA’s effort to fight species on for size. It’s also a staunch supporter of veganism and advocates for ending the American tradition of Turkey on Thanksgiving.
PETA also kills more dogs and cats than Abdul. It’s only a question of how long before they start doing it in the name of Allah.
