Democrats couldn’t manage a lemonade stand without losing money to waste, fraud, and abuse, and yet they think they have a leg to stand on when it comes to the subject of affordability. Both the present and their history show they can’t. Taxes, regulations, interventions- did I mention taxes? That all comes out of your pocket. I know, they always say it will be someone else, but it never is.
After they take the money and the choices it represents from you for themselves, they waste it, lose it, and mismanage it. Democrat enclaves under investigation for fraud have likely lost an eye-watering one trillion of your dollars to fraud. It’s almost as if they don’t care, and it’s a systemic party problem.
Everywhere you let Democrats run the lemonade stand they misplace, lose, waste, or steal your money; an always increasing sum they robbed from you at the point of the police state gun.
Good luck finding a Democrat who is on board with helping Vice President Vance root out that invasive abuse of trust (and money). Take Chris “sock-puppet” Pappas, for example. He’s investing a lot of social media real estate on Trump’s tariffs, especially with Canada. New Hampshire, the place he is pretending he will represent, borders the Great White North. New Hampshire does business with Canada, and its tourist trade benefits from occupants of the Great Dominion stumbling across the St. Lawrence Seaway, into America.
Mr. Pappas has been vocal about the Tariffs, but only because he can put the word Trump in front of him. He has expressed little outrage about the criminal aliens stumbling into New Hampshire or Canada’s long history of hostile trade practices. The ones Trump is using American tariffs to undermine to the benefit of all Americans.
Dairy, poultry, and egg production quotas combined with tariff-rate quotas (TRQs) on American products can exceed 200%, sometimes higher for specific products like butter or cheese) severely limiting U.S. access.
No word from Team Pappas on how we might address that other than capitulation to unfair trade practices on the assumption that this is better for Americans.
Lumber or softwood timber from the US struggles in Canadian markets because the Canadian government engages in predatory protectionism and tarrifs/trade practices that keep domestic lumber cheap while making it nearly impossible for American timber to compete in their markets.
Canada has long run protectionist practices on steel and aluminum that disadvantage US producers, jobs, and families.
Canada has a digital services tax that adds costs to US tech products and services.
Canada requires foreign streaming services to pay the bureaucracy to feed its oversight programs while major digital news platforms are required to negotiate payments to Canadian news organizations.
Canada is also a conduit for products produced by forced labor to enter the United States via the USMCA (not renewed by the Trump Administration, which continues to use tariffs to end such practices). Yes, Canada has rules prohibiting products resulting from forced labor, but there is evidence they don’t necessarily enforce them, funneling cheap foreign goods into the United States.
Any one of these undermines the argument that Trump’s tariffs are irresponsible, certainly the last one, but no Democrat for elected office is going to explain it. Much like the facade of affordability, forced labor or one of its close cousins is a necessary feature of the progressive “utopia.” Just ask Californians or New Yorkers or the voters in Virginia who were promised affordability only to find the Democrats they elected lied about all of it just to get elected.
As for Pappas, he appears willing to let Canada walk all over us on trade in exchange for an incomplete soundbite on a plan whose purpose is to apply economic pressure on a weaker nation to get it to stop screwing over American business and Americans.
If it works, the unfair trade practices get rolled back, and the Tariffs come down. If Dems get their way, you get capitulation across the board. The world goes back to screwing us from every angle on everything. The trillions in new foreign investment likely end, and instead of onshoring jobs and manufacturing, it reverts to fleeing as it did under Obama and Biden.
That’s not good for the US or New Hampshire.
