Eric Swallwell is a partisan douchebag. I don’t even need to produce receipts for anyone who pays the slightest bit of attention. Whatever hyperbolic left-wing bullshit is on the menu, he is one of the first ones out of the kitchen to serve it. But that’s not why people who hold care even know who he is.
Swalwell is famous for his Chinese spy girlfriend, Christine Fang (all alleged, of course). A problem, nearly or is it slightly more embarrassing than Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s Chinese spy driver? Fang Fang may appear in some FBI files on Chinese government infiltration into US politics, and Swalwell is swelling with indignation.
“The Congressman has never been accused of wrongdoing in that matter and your attempt to release the file is a transparent attempt to smear him and undermine his campaign for Governor of California,” Swalwell’s attorneys Norm Eisen and Sean Hecker wrote Patel. “Your actions threaten to expose you, others at the FBI, and the FBI itself to significant legal liability.”
This is hilarious for lots of reasons. First, if Eric is innocent, releasing the files to the White House will absolve him of any nagging concerns among the California electorate (if any of them actually care). His relationship with Fang Fang, or her placement of a staffer in Swalwell’s office, can be dismissed as of no concern to his judgment, integrity, or national security.
Second, Swalwell is famous for insisting, demanding that every single file related to Epstein be released.
“If the president is not implicated, then why not release everything?” Swalwell asked FBI Director Kash Patel in a tense exchange at a congressional hearing late last year that typified his pressure campaign.
Pots and kettles and all that, and why didn’t whoever was running the Biden Administration drop them all off at 620 Eighth Avenue in Manhattan, or to their friends at CNN? Skip the anonymous sources, “people with knowledge of” or “sources close to,” and just say, hey, here they are!
We know why without having seen all of them. The Epstein files are a massive earthquake to the left-wing landscape, and you don’t do that hoping you can take out Trump Tower and leave the rest standing because history has shown us Trump is more resilient, truth or lies.
That’s not to say innocent casualties aren’t the price of doing Democratic Party business. One need only look at a city they’ve run into the ground for proof. Drugs, poverty, public education, homelessness, health care, addiction, pick a thing, and the more Democrats/government does to alleviate it, the worse and more expensive it gets.
But being mum on Epstein is a lot like why Democrats in Minnesota never really tried to uncover any fraud (or Democrats anywhere else). It is why the NH AG’s office never really investigates election irregularities or vote stealers. It serves some greater purpose that the establishment would rather not have messed with.
Swalwell threatening to sue Kash Patel or the FBI for releasing files to the White House, which it can declassify at will, and shouldn’t contain anything about Eric Swalwell, is exactly why we need to see them. He doth protest too much, and when it comes to China, American politics, and FBI files accumulated over multiple administrations, almost everyone in them who might be linked to Foreign Intelligence will have a (D) after their name. It is an earthquake worth starting, especially if it takes out a few useless idiot RINOs along with their (D)rinking buddies.
I’d expect that to all come out before the mid-terms no matter what Swalwell’s lawyers have to say.
