During the Biden years, things were a lot like Joe. In a state of slow decline. The big news was what the so-called news was saying to paper over Joe’s dementia, or what his handlers were doing to hide it. The Easter bunny keeps Joe away from the kids. Joe gets lost of 20 x 40 ft stage, trips over this, stumbles on that. A foreign leader keeps Joe from getting lost in an open field. Obama perp walks Joe off stage, but seriously, there’s nothing to see here.
Then they all act surprised when a guy who wasn’t competent enough to withstand a deposition or to give testimony blows a debate better than Kamala ever could, leading to candidate Kamala, who did less than nothing as the vice president, and even less as a presidential one, unless burning through other people’s money counts, but any Dem can do that.
Trump won with multiple mandates, and since then, we’ve been living in an action movie that has only just gotten started. Things happen, Dems flip out, paid protests, manufactured outrage, lawsuits pile up, District Court injunctions abound, and most of those get stayed or thrown out, and here’s one you may have missed.
Last week, a federal appeals court struck down a lower court injunction that had been stopping Trump from ending union collective bargaining for 1M+ federal employees, which constitutes about two-thirds of the government’s civilian workforce. A three-judge panel dissolved the stay while litigation continues. In short: firings of protected union workers can now proceed. …
The preliminary injunction that had blocked the Trump administration from terminating union bargaining agreements for more than 1 million federal employees is now dissolved.
Typically, such a ruling suggests that Trump will win on the merits, and if it goes all the way to the Supreme Court, he likely would. The unionization of federal workers was created by an executive order. Congress never enshrined it in the laws of the land. Trump undid Obama’s. Biden undid Trump’s. Trump undid Biden’s, and almost no one blinked, but converting tax dollars into Union resources via Federal workers was a long-standing money-laundering operation, like USAID. You paid taxes, swamp creatures expanded the dues-paying bureaucracy, and those workers funded progressive activism and the funding of left-wing causes and campaigns.
But there is nothing making it a thing but an executive order over sixty years ago. The 180 (ish) years of American government that preceded that did not have unionized federal workers. Collective bargaining wasn’t even available during the progressive era from the early 1900’s through FDR, when progressives couldn’t stop shoving bananas up the tailpipe of America.
Trump can fire federal workers, and unions can’t protect them. The Courts are going to see things Trump’s way. And America is going to get a little bit leaner, hopefully, as his Secretaries of this or that get back to work pruning the hedges erected by six decades of swamp creatures to protect elected officials from the taxpayers paying their salaries and the dues unions won’t be able to collect.
It’s a win on multiple levels, and here’s to hoping it sticks the landing.
You’re Fired!
