Fred Willard played “dumb” characters – and hasn’t shaken my faith in that.

CNN asked a number of celebrities what questions they would ask the Republicans in this past Wednesday’s Republican Debate.  Out of the 25 picked, only 7 or 8 would vote for a Republican.  The last one on the page was Fred and his short answer told me all I needed to know about his politics:

“President Ronald Reagan said, ‘Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!’ Why would the U.S. build one?”

as well as his knowledge of basic history – after all, his age says he should know why the Iron Curtain was erected and a complete sense of nonsense as to why there are discussions about the US putting up a wall on our southern border (to keep people out that refuse to follow our laws to reside here – you know, the normal reason why fences are built for people (and yes, agriculture fences are meant to keep animals inside)).

On the other hand The Communists (you know, the kissing cousins of Bernie Sanders and the rest of the Progressive Caucus in the US Congress) erected the Berlin Wall to keep their people from leaving that “Peoples’ Paradise”. That’s right, just as farmer use to pen their livestock, so the Communists used fences to keep their “citizens” from escaping.  Some paradise and enlightened society that determines that it has to treat its citizens like animals.

Hey, isn’t that similar to what the Demcrats want to do with corporations trying to use tax inversion politics to escape “enlightened” (in the eyes of Progressives)  regressive tax policies; they are trying to erect a financial / tax wall to keep those “unpatriotic” companies from leaving.
