In each and every totalitarian government, one of the first things they do is to disarm the populace. EVERY single time – no exceptions. Our Founders knew this.
Our Country was founded on the event that the Redcoats were coming to take away the “arms” that the American colonists had stored.
The Shot Heard ‘Round the World was fired, in part, to stop that from happening; the answer was “over your dead bodies.”
Liberty resulted.
Look around the world – does China allow its people to own guns? How about Cuba? Venezuela? The Soviet Union didn’t, nor did the other Eastern Bloc nations. Those people were defenseless against their own Government.
And yes, I am one of those that believes that it can happen here in America. After all, every time I look around, the Left / Socialists / Communists / Democrats are looking to “infringe” on our Second Amendment and NH’s Article 2-A Rights all the time. Using their time tested language redefinition, they’ll never admit to infringing – they try to hide it as “common sense” and take it away one small slice at a time.
Teeny. Tiny. Amost unobstrusively. But it’s always about Safety. Someone else’s safety – rarely yours (except when they insult you by telling you are more at risk simply by having a firearm in your house”).
They want you to believe that your Government will never turn on you – history says that’s a false premise. Simply by the fact they have tried for so long and so hard to do the “civilian disarmament dance” should tell you there’s a reason and it isn’t for your best interest.
It’s for theirs.
I’ll disagree with the “policemen” part as that’s a real tiny part of the problem. It’s the bureaucrats, the liberal agitators, it’s the hypocrites that want YOUR “protection devices” taken away even as they have the money to surround themselves with security personnel that have such.
And it’s the Socialist / Communist politicians (masquerading as Democrats like the most vehement: NH State Reps Katherine Rogers and David Meuse) that want complete disarmament most of all.
They want you to be the weak part of Society. They want to “tame” us and only by removing our final manner of defending ourselves can it happen.
I want Government to be the weaker part instead. I want it to be subjugated to OUR wishes and not the other way around.
