When I was a kid, the Iranians took Americans hostage at the US Embassy, and held them for 444 days, tying the US in knots, and humiliating us on the world stage. Hooded hostages were trotted out for propaganda interviews.
It destroyed the already tottering Carter Administration and assured Reagan’s win. There are up to FIFTEEN THOUSAND US Citizens in Afghanistan, and the only way out is Kabul airport.
One month ago, Zombie Joe decided to close Bagram Air Base in the middle of the night, without warning the Afghani Military or Government. This was a critical, twofold mistake. First, by disappearing like thieves in the night, the Afghani’s lost all confidence in our support of them. Secondly, Bagram was in the mountains, away from cities. It could be secured and used to ferry out citizens from all over Afghanistan. Now, the only way out is Kabul airport, surrounded by a metropolis of 5 million people.
Zombie Joe was rolled out to blame everyone else. He was barely comprehensible, lacking all effect. Clearly, not enough of the secret sauce was injected. I thought I was watching a bad SNL skit. I expected Miles Cowperthwaite to walk up to the podium to empty the silver drool bucket strapped to Joe’s chin. Surreal.
They TRIED to get Kamala to do the speech, but her response, according to connected rumor, was “Hell no, you’re not pinning this on me”! Of course, Kamala claimed credit for the Afghan Policy a few months back, claiming to be “the last one in the room with him” before Zombie Joe made the call.
Things get worse by the day. It turns out the Taliban got hold of the US BIOMETRIC database of American collaborators. The Taliban is going door to door, armed with Total Information Awareness. This is going to be a slow-speed blood bath without historical comparison. City by city, town by town, village by village, they will be purged.
How did we get here? Ron Paul nailed it:
“The generals and other high-ranking military officers lied to their commander-in-chief and to The generals and other high-ranking military officers lied to their commander-in-chief and to the American people for years about progress in Afghanistan. The same is true for the US intelligence agencies. Unless there is a major purge of those who lied and misled, we can count on these disasters to continue until the last US dollar goes up in smoke.
The military-industrial complex spent 20 years on the gravy train with the Afghanistan war. They built missiles, they built tanks, they built aircraft and helicopters. They hired armies of lobbyists and think tank writers to continue the lie that was making them rich. They wrapped their graft up in the American flag, but they are the opposite of patriots.
