Quick Thought: Democrat Cognitive Dissonance

by Skip

I had bookmarked this a couple of days ago as it mirrors the same situation here in NH – Voter ID.  For Conservatives, this should be but a simple matter: with the current and  rampant Identity Theft epidemic, what is so wrong with making sure that the person who is asking for a ballot is the actual person that should get that ballot?  Yet, that seems to be too much to ask of ordinary citizens, according to the Democrats and Progressives.

  • To vote is a Right, they say – no ID needed (or better, should NOT be needed). Privacy, dontcha know! Voter fraud?  How DARE you insinuate malfeasance!
  • Yet, for me to have a firearm, an enumerated Constitutional Right, I have to undergo a background check which also includes ID.  Heaven forbid that I argue with Progressives saying otherwise (for then, in a wonderful display of Democrat “civility”, I am just a kiddie killer in waiting).
  • Progressive also believe that healthcare is also a Right. Yet in doing so, they have created the most massive and intrusive government program ever, even as it is seen that HHS and IRS are politically corrupt, such that I have to submit the most personal of both medical tidbits of my life as well as my financial  life will be laid bare in front of a massive number of people I don’t within multiple Governmental departments that I haven’t a chance in defending myself if need be?

So, how come it’s ok in one case to not have ID, but not the other(s)?  I just don’t understand Progressives, I reckon.
