Better To Rule in Hell Than Serve in Heaven

Did you watch the State of the Union speech?  The context of the speech was a bit surreal when one considers that the members of the Senate present to hear this address would be voting the next day on whether to convict and remove the President from office.

Since the president didn’t dignify that partisan coup attempt against him with even a mention in the SOTU, I’ll refrain from commenting on that sordid subject here.

But I do want to comment on the other surreal spectacle: the members of the Democrat Party refusing to acknowledge, one after another, Trump’s incredible accomplishments for America.  The ones Trump has been able to accomplish for America even though the House has never been truly with him during his Presidency.

One can point out that the Republicans technically controlled the House for the first two years of his Presidency, but let’s be honest, Paul Ryan, the Republican speaker, and his leadership team were “Never Trumpers”.  They were “in bed” with the Chamber of Commerce globalist agenda.  They were not friends and allies of Trump’s America-first agenda.

And of course, now we have the beyond-hostile Democrat Controlled House.  Hell, their attempted coup is literally ongoing!

So back to the State of the Union address.  I watched with growing disbelief, the Democrat’s refusal to acknowledge basically any of the incredibly good news for America.

Was there anything that could get the Democrats off their butts and using their hands to acknowledge the good?

Record low unemployment?   Nope.

Record low minority unemployment?   Nope.

Record low women’s unemployment?   Nope

Big rises in unskilled wage rate?   Nope.

Seven million Americans coming off food stamps?   Nope.

Think about it, the Democrats sat on their hands when Trump announced that 10 million people have been lifted off of welfare rolls!

The tawdry spectacle was there for all to see, culminating with the Speaker of the House tearing up the State of the Union speech in public while the President was still on the podium!

I was trying to make sense of what was happening.  It had to be more than just Trump-hatred.  Even “Orange Man Bad” doesn’t explain this utter rejection of the good things happening for America.  Then it struck me – an insight into the unspoken thinking of the modern Democrat Party: Better to rule in Hell than serve in Heaven.

That famous line is from John Milton’s “Paradise Lost”.  It was Milton’s attempt to explain why an angel would defy God Himself.  At the root, of course, is Pride, a pride so virulently consuming that Satan preferred Hell to Heaven because, in Hell, he could rule.

The motivator of the modern Democrat politician is to gain, hold, and increase power over others (and the wealth for them that comes with it).  But that truth can’t be stated openly, it wouldn’t play well with the voters.  So instead, the Democrats talk about the need to “help the little guy”.

But the “help the little guy” shtick doesn’t work if the little guy is gainfully employed and doing well.  Happy, self-sufficient people don’t vote Democrat because they earn their own way and don’t need government to be their provider.

Here is what you need to grok (sorry couldn’t help it).

The Democrat Party thrives when people are in their own personal Hell: miserable, dependent, and hopeless.  Only then can their siren song of socialism have its desired effect.  That effect is for you to vote them into the power they crave.

In his address, Trump cataloged his successful efforts to make things better, creating an America-unleashed.  He is getting us closer to the best life we can hope for on this Earth.

But the Democrats wouldn’t clap because good news for you is bad news for them.  Your “heaven”, a good-paying job, a comfortable life, and a hopeful future for your children, is their hell.  It’s their hell because you won’t need anything they offer, and they can’t trick you into giving them the power they so desperately want over your life and your future.

So, I say if the Democrats truly want Hell, let’s give it to them.  But let’s make sure it’s Hell for them and not us.

Re-elect President Trump and a Congress that shares his America-first agenda.  Can you imagine how much better it can get if everyone is finally pulling together with Trump to truly put the American people first?

I’ll happily serve and do my part in THAT heaven.
