Ilhan Omar is an outspoken, far-leftist, antisemite, and problem child for the Pelosi-Clinton wing of the Democrat party. While that last bit makes her slightly endearing (who doesn’t want to cause trouble for Pelosi and Clinton), the other stuff, while not uncommon on the left, is the least of her problems.

She’s under investigation by the FBI and can’t expect the party to help her out. Certainly not after aligning herself with Bernie Sanders, who is currently out of favor again as well.
The Dems are eager to be rid of her, and the government (allegedly) has a mountain of issues to pursue to make that dream come true.
The Department of Justice has reportedly assigned an FBI special agent to work with Immigration and Customs and Enforcement and the Department of Education Inspector General Charge to investigate Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) for alleged criminal violations relating to perjury, immigration fraud, marriage fraud, state and federal tax fraud, federal student loan fraud, and bigamy.
Let’s itemize that.

- Bigamy
Quick question. Does NH Democrat Rep Sherry Frost still stand with Ilhan Omar? A better question is, why isn’t Omar running for the Democrat nomination? She’s the perfect outsider candidate, and all that alleged wrongdoing should make her a star. Wait, she likes Bernie. A damning association, though not as precarious as those listed above.
Matthew L. Kolken, an Immigration lawyer, takes a deep dive into why all these things are bad for Omar‘s status if it turns out she is not a legitimate citizen. If she is, well, there’s still the other matters, and it appears that the FBI is curious.
The Left’s FBI, perhaps? They have a way of pursuing you relentlessly, even if you happen to be innocent. And she only has a few friends on the Left and few if any inside the circles of Democrat Party power.
While it is entertaining from over here on the right, I’m not the least bit interested in the government railroading her out of the country if she is, in fact, a legitimate naturalized citizen, which is in question.
As to the other charges, follow the law and collect evidence. Make a case if there is one and let the courts decide. All of which could take years and may just be a smokescreen to get her to not run for reelection.
The Left doesn’t care if she’s here and votes Democrat regardless of her status (or other alleged crimes). They do care if she is here and makes it difficult for them to win elections and accumulate power.
I would not be surprised to find Democrat insiders prompting the FBI to pursue this.
